Earth's first line of defense against the Decepticons is here! Bumblebee waits and watches until he is called upon to protect Sam and any other humans that come under threat from Megatron. He is a cunning warrior, and dedicated to those he calls his friends. When danger threatens, he converts to robot mode with his plasma cannon blazing. The Transformers Movie hero "comes to life" at the push of a button. This ultra-detailed robot figure features an animated head, wings and arms. minimize

4 Star Review Very nice

Strengths:

Really cool with the lights, high durability

Weaknesses:

A little bit too challenging for my 5 year old

Posted Dec 12, 2007 - We always love transformers. The deal got from Amazon is good, considering the size, detail, and light effects. It is a blast for my son. It is cool for us to work together to transform it while it is a little bit challenging for himself. We did use Hasbro online video for the assembly. That is pretty cool too. Overall, a very nice toy.

5 Star Review Best figure from movie so far...

Strengths:

Flashing lights Motion sensors Sound and voice

Weaknesses:

Feels a little filmsy, not for young kids Needs more sayings

Posted Dec 14, 2007 - I have been a fan of transformer since my younger days. When this figure came out, I went right to the store and got him. I also have the Ultimate Optimus Prime. I thought that was probably the best from the new movie, but I was wrong. What Optimus lacked, Bumblebee delivered. Even though the character in the movie did not speak much, it was nice to have some sayings from him in the figure. I wanted something like that with the Prime figure. I really liked the new design, since it went into greater detail for the figure and vehicle. The only transformer that I own that is better is the metal version of Ultra Magnus that I pricked up in Japan over three years ago.

1 Star Review Features don't justify price

Strengths:

Good car mode, interesting sound effects

Weaknesses:

Fairly shoddy "automatic movement", not really appropriate for small children, but perhaps too basic for collectors

Posted 1 year ago - I was very disappointed in this figure. After the rest of the amazing movie line, with their complex transformations and amazing attention to detail, this figure was a shock (and not just sticker shock). First the good: the car mode is very well done, with good details, paint aps, and lights/sounds. The robot mode, on the other hand, is a mess. The transformation is (in my opinion) far to difficult for children. This is not due to complexity, however, but due to the fact that many of the pieces lock in place so tightly that you're not sure if they are meant to come apart or not. For collectors, the transformation is remarkably simple (NOTE: for me, the more complex the transformation, the better). For 80 dollars, you get essentially an oddly proportioned, poorly articulated hunk of plastic (80 dollars, and no die cast?). Bumblebee deserves better than this.

4 Star Review Awesome Toy - Ultimate Bumblee Bee

Strengths:

Its cool. In robot form, it talks , in car form it sings songs etc. Very sturdy. When in car mode, the electronics have some pretty cool effects.

Weaknesses:

Transforming it from robot to car the first time did take quite a while, but the resulting car is very realistic.

Posted Feb 8, 2008 - When in car mode, the transformer locks together very well (first time I went to transform it back, I was surprised by how much force it took to unsnap some of the panels). When in car mode, the electronics have some pretty cool effects. When you push the car, the engine revs, and the headlights come on. When the car stops, it screeches to a halt and the tail light light up. Robot mode effects are cool too. Highly recommend this toy.

4 Star Review Nice and well made

Strengths:

large size, well made

Weaknesses:

plastic

Posted Dec 7, 2007 - I purchased this for $80 at etoys.com. You can get $5 off if you use their credit, called “Bill Me Later”. The product is worth about $60 comparing to their Leader series. It is just a bit larger and double the price. It was a little difficult to transform the first time. Even though it is made of plastic, it’s pretty sturdy. I would not pay over $80 for it unless buying for yourself. Transformers are making Hasbro tons of money and are their best selling series ever. They are selling millions. The fun will only last the time it takes to transform it twice, less than an hour. Have fun!
