The delivery company got it here several days sooner than promised and they brought the TV all the way into my living room. Not only that, when the TV arrived in town the delivery company called me and gave me the driver's cell phone number so I could contact him that night after hours to arrange delivery for the following day. I am so very impressed. I have spent thousands of dollars at Amazon.com over the years, and overall my experiences have been very pleasant. I am just so happy! :-)	Overall Rating

I've never had anything but a good experience with this company, and my latest order was nothing different. Had about 10 books delivered pretty quickly - free shipping too. In all those years, I've only had a couple of minor problems, but they have always been corrected quickly and to my satisfaction. I've purchased everything from vacuum cleaners, to cameras, VCR's, small kitchen appliances, and power tools. And lots of books and movies. Even a couple of pans and a set of dishes! I don't remember that anything was ever delivered broken, but one item was delivered late after I paid for express shipping. Amazon bent over backwards to make up for it. If buyers will read the shipping information carefully, there shouldn't be any surprises in the charges. I use their priority shipping service, which has been really great! Horrible experience and horrible attitude. They should have let me know much earlier. I bought the Escort 9500i radar detector, and it says I could aslo purchase a window mount. It seems like a package for me, but it wasn't. Amazon charged me seperately for the radar and window mount. A shipping fee $10 for the windown mount for the 2 days express. and another $7 for the radar. This is totally bs, coz it says "FREE SHIPPING" wth??? such a rip off.	Overall Rating

Most have been with their market sellers or whatever they're called that indicates they are not a direct part of Amazon. While shipping/tracking and promises have been kept. Who the heck packages this stuff for shipping? In every case the packaging has been demolished with the contents surviving. Not so on this last order a contractor grade tripod with elevating platform. This time the bottom of the box was nothing but tape. Tbottom of the box wasn't there when they shipped it. Someone simply kept wrapping clear shipping tape around it until there was this little shipping tape window on the bottom of the box. It was shipped in the manufactures box which is clearly designed to be placed in a sturdier box with several others. This time the contents did not survive. A broken crank for the elevation platform and missing rubber protectors for the feet. For me the risk is not worth the gain. I have found items in new to near new for lower prices than available through nearly any other source including ebay. And regular shipping has been either free or less than $4.00 (about 1/2 to 1/3 of ebay.) I have never received a poor quality item even when used. Many used items are as low as $0.01. I have never had a sales tax charged, and shipping has always been timely, even if a package or two have been poorly packed and/or wrapped. I have never even had to call customer service. The only two problems I ever had were self-inflicted by clicking incorrectly. I buy from Amazon wnenever possible.	Overall Rating

Seeing the number of negative reviews was really disappointing to me because I have been ordering from them regularly for several years now and I have never had a problem. Many of the negative reviews seem to focus on shipping. A few things should be taken into account here. First of all, you can choose to order from Amazon itself or from a distributor that deals through their site. Some people may have mistaken the ability to choose as a merchant that was amazon. Don't get me wrong, the merchants dealing through them are usually good, but they aren't amazon. Also, sometimes Amazon has an item on backorder and you really do have to pay close attention to when it will be ship. Their free shipping does take a few days to send, but I have upgraded to Amazon Prime and, for an annual fee, I get free two day shipping. After years of ordering, I believe they are a great company! I know that I have ordered more times than the amount of reviews I see here - and I am just one person. I have never had a problem with Amazon that was not immediately taken care of to my satisfaction. The only problem I did have was when I ordered through their one of their Market Place vendors, and then Amazon backed me up - issued me a credit and made the person/company sit up and pay attention to my complaints. You do have to be a smart shopper and read the small print - anywhere. Honestly, even if there is only a difference of a couple dollars, I too usually will order from Amazon because I trust them.
