I ordered the Garmin Nuvi hoping to have it before Christmas and they didn't disappoint. It took only three days to receive. They usually are great but when I ordered a Panasonic toaster, it took more than a week for delivery (free super saver). |

AMAZON is a great place to shop. people are so dumb amazon says where it is shipping it from. it takes a long time if you buy it from a third party seller. so smart people just go to the third party seller and buy directly from them. That is also why it takes so long. free shipping on orders over 25 dollars all you have to do is look at what amazon says and it is easy. i have never had a damaged package and when i get free shipping if it takes a bit i can live but when you pay for shipping it is fast and easy |

Several times Amazon has taken forever to ship a product, even though they show the item in stock and as "shipping within 48 hours". I had tried Amazon "Prime" for the three month trial period, and everything ALWAYS shipped immediately, and was received within three days of ordering. Prior to my trial membership, everything had always shipped in a timely matter. However, AFTER cancelling Amazon Prime, orders now take forever to ship, as if this is Amazon's way of nudging customers to sign-up for their $80-per year "Prime" service. For us, it simply doesn't merit the outlay. Buyers, BEWARE; Amazon, like nearly all "big businesses", is only concerned about ITSELF, AKA profits, and not its customers... you know, the ones who pay their paychecks. |

I have used and continue to use Amazon as my very first place to purchase mostly anything. They track what I have purchased or browsed so that I can find something the next time. They have a great email and tracking process. Orders come on time, packaged well, and are cheap! Never had a problem yet with cancels, refunds, delays. |

Paced order on 12/3 using 5-9 days shpping to be received by 12/25. On 12/14, I checked status and learned order was scheduled to ship 12/29 -1/9. In order to receive by 12/25, I had to pay an additional $6.96. When I complained, I received an email indicating a $6.96 would be applied to my credit card account. This credit was never applied. |

If something was wrong with an item, Amazon was always ready to replace or refund at no cost. Of course Amazon doesn't have cheapest prices on everything, but they are very competitive and orders over $25 are shipped free. When I need to buy electronics item, I'm willing to pay a few bucks more at Amazon.com and have guaranteed free replacement if receive a defective item. I think it is better than buying for a couple bucks cheaper from some online vendors who unfairly charge 15% as restocking fee even if the item is defective. I always recommend to my friends Amazon.com as the best online retailer. |

(Edited January 22nd by gems_n_jules) My second disappointment with Amazon.com. The prices are great, but I have now had 2 items not ship within weeks of original "estimate". Although the items were both listed as in stock when ordered, they did not deliver like it. Updated me 2 weeks after my order was placed with an email stating that they were changing my estimated shipping date (to the end of January when ordered in 4 wks before Christmas). I gave them another chance this year when lured in by the low prices. Not worth it. Again, although in stock when I ordered it, my item that was ordered on 12/27 did not ship and was given a revised ship date of January 18th-22nd. I just received another update (January 20th) to tell me they are estimating shipping another month from now, and if they don't have it THEN, they will cancel my order. I've now been waiting almost a month for an item that may never arrive. I saved them the trouble and cancelled the item myself and bought from another vendor. |

I ordered a Movado watch ( new) for 478$ on December 9th as a Christmas present. The watch arrived on December 22, did not work and scrathed ( most likely retruned bu someone). I sent it back and asked for a replacement. The nagiated me to their site where the watch is now sold for 825$ = S&H. I asked them to replace it for the same price specially that my Christmas peresent was ruined by them and they would not do it. So they not only spoiled my Christmas they wanted me to pay 337$ for it. Great!!! Think before you buy from them. you may have to pay double if you really want the item!!!! |

I purchased a Sandisk Sansa e270 MP3 player from Amazon. The first unit I got had black dirty marks all over the player body and fingerprints on the screen (beneath the transparent screen protector). I immediately requested an exchange and the process was fast. I got my second unit about 3 days after, just to find that it had a big scratch on the player. I requested for another exchange and Amazon refused to do it, claiming that it's a widespread problem and they couldn't do anymore replacement. This is really a horrible buying experience. |

I purchased a wide screen TV from Amazon and was shipped the wrong unit. After notifying them of their mistake they informed me that the unit I ordered was no longer available and that I should return the incorrect unit for a refund. I paid for this incorrect unit via credit card and by the time this thing gets settled, if it ever does, they will have had the use of my money for 4-6 weeks and at credit card rates… Well you do the math! Needless to say this is my last purchase from this bunch of bunglers. |

I purchased a Uniden TRU9465 cordless phone from Amazon. The order shipped a day later by USPS and arrived in town at the projected date. Amazon offered one of the best prices for the product at the time. I would buy from Amazon again. Unfortunately, USPS did not scan the package when picking it up from Amazon. Amazon's website stated that they had shipped the product and USPS's website stated that they were waiting for the product to be made available. It was not until the package arrived in town several days later that I knew specifically when it would be delivered or when I could pick it up from the post office. This was a bit annoying as I was traveling out of town that week and wanted to insure the package delivery was handled correctly. I called Amazon and was told this was a common practice for USPS given the number of shipments they pick up from Amazon. I hope Amazon will be more insistent that USPS scan outgoing packages upon pick-up in the future. |

I purchased a Garmin Nuvi GPS unit via Amazon on December 19th and selected 2 day air. I was told that the the package would be delivered on December 22nd. Well, the latest new is that it will be delivered on December 26th; not very good new considering this is a Christmas gift. My last order from Amazon earlier this month was a book in which I also selected 2 day air shipping. I got the book 2 days after the quoted delivery date. |

What has happened to Amazon?!? They have fallen apart this year. I've been a regular for years but no more. Every order recently has been messed up. Items shown as in stock that are not. Items not shipped when they are supposed to be. Items ordered TWO WEEKS before Christmas that do not show up before Christmas. No more. |

I love Amazon! Their prices are very competitive on most products. I belong to their Prime program, where I get free 2 day shipping on nearly everything (sometimes it's 1 day), at a cost of about $80 per year. I must have placed over 10 orders for Christmas this year, some as late as Dec. 20th, and everything arrives on time. |

I made my first order with amazon last week, and yesterday I informed that stuff would be shipped soon; but this morning, I got following email and I'm deadly disappointed to know that the so-called "Earth's most customer-centric company" is sometimes too bad - We will not be able to obtain the following item from your order: Though we had expected to be able to send this item to you, we've since found that it is not available from any of our sources at this time. Not pertaining to the order listed here, I'd previously taken advantage of Amazon's offer for a $25 coupon toward baby products after the purchase of $75 in baby products. I ordered 2 cases of diapers, then a package of baby wipes to get the total to $75. VERY conveniently for Amazon, they notified me after they shipped the $72 worth of diapers that the $3 worth of baby wipes were 'out of stock', which meant I didn't qualify for the $25 coupon. This seemed very contrived and I was not a happy camper. Also, to the person who said we shouldn't expect quick shipping when it's free, you apparently don't do much internet shopping. I do a LOT of internet shopping and usually my free deliveries get here in 1/3 to 1/2 the time it takes Amazon. I also question Amazon's apparent inability to reflect stock availability real time to the customer. Other sites do this, why can't Amazon? Because it's not to their advantage to do so? |

Ordered Product mid November. Was told it was shipped 12/1 via UPS. UPS still shows only that billing info has been received. Item has apparently NOT shipped. Customer Service (a misnomer)does not answer my Emails. Would NEVER purchase from them again! |

first and foremost, before finalizing any transaction, one should always read amazon's policies regarding free standard shipping. In most if not all cases, it is always stipulated in its website the options and how they go about it. And i don't think this is bogus, you just have to learn to read and understand or better still call their customer service for more information before making any purchase. I got the best deals from amazon, free shipping and tax at that! P.S. obviously when it's free shipping you dont expect it to be delivered in two days! Hello! |
