Posted Jun 22, 2005 - After having an error during installation, I was told by Panda tech support that I would have to uninstall the product and reinstall. Clicking uninstall did nothing to even begin uninstalling. I spent the better part of the next week having to erase registry enteries and manually delete files. At the end of all that, Windows Security Center still told me that I had Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005 still installed and turned on. Windows firewall told me that I did not have a firewall activated. When I asked tech support, they told me to talk to Microsoft. What kind of software that is not a virus forbids the user to uninstall it? This software is fine if you plan on never installing a different anti-virus or if you do not get an error installing. Otherwise, run as far away from it as fast as you can! I ended up having to rebuild my PC from scratch to finally eradicate the false firewall notification.

Great Product

Posted Jan 11, 2006 - I am totally disgusted with this product and the level of service provided. I recently downloaded Panda Platinum internet security free trial version, as the information on the product seemed outstanding. Shortly after downloading the free trial version, my computer lost all internet connectivity. ALL CONNECTIVITY. Because this was a weekend, I waited until the tech support line was open on Monday to get help with the problem. The support agent I spoke with informed me that the company policy is not to support trial version customers via phone support and that I could use email or internet support. I re-explained the problem; that Panda software had disrupted ALL of my internet connectivity and that I could not USE email or online support. He continued to tell me that my loss of connectivity was a symptom of the program being corrupt and that I needed to uninstall. I told him that I had tried to uninstall but was getting an error message and that the program would not allow me to uninstall. Next, he told me to boot in safe mode with networking and uninstall from there. He then reiterated that the policy is not to support trial-version users. Following this call, I did as instructed and rebooted to safe mode to uninstall this software. I got the same error so I called back and got the same agent on the phone. I told him I was getting the same error and that I needed support, policy or not. In fact, one of the reasons I decided to TRY the product was that technical support was offered. At the time of download there was NO message stating that my support was limited to online support. The tech support agent then took my email address (which I can only access from work now) and emailed me a help file to uninstall my program. When I arrived at work this morning, I have an email for an uninstall script that is run off of a WEBSITE! 216.240.153.30/tech/Pa... How could I be expected to run an uninstall file off of the internet when I HAVE NO INTERNET CONNECTIVITY. As a former phone support agent and a once potential customer, I am DISGUSTED at the level of service that I have gotten and the blanket policy treatment I have received. While I can understand that providing phone support costs money and it does not seem to pay off to support free trial customers in the short term, in the long term, one has better potential of encouraging people to BUY the product if that have gotten an exceptional product hand in hand with decent customer service. Frankly, I am appalled at this point. Not only has my issue not been resolved, but I am getting “support” that is inappropriate as I cannot follow the above link to uninstall the program because the program has removed my ability to connect to the internet. This exchange took place on Monday. Today is Wednesday. I have heard NOTHING from Panda, not only tech support but also nothing from customer service.

Very good job, Panda!

Posted Jan 28, 2006 - They say that if you don't notice that your antivirus software is there, then it is good. I have tried other antivirus software, most notably Norton, and they take so much computer resources to the point where you can feel your PC runs slower because of the antivirus. Not with this Panda antivirus. If it weren't for the little panda icon in the system tray, I couldn't tell it is there. It has popped up a few times, warning me of potential viruses, asking me (or, sometimes, informing me) taht it has found/erased some infected file(s.) It updates automatically daily with the latest virus definitions. I highly recommend this product!

Panda Internet security a joke.

Posted Mar 2, 2006 - The program constantly shows pop-up screens that must be turned of manually when it did run. The program showed an error message stating that it had to close and showed a link to send the information to Panda. This happens everytime the program starts. Spent hours trying to contact tech support through their "On-Line" support without success. Keep getting error messages that says "Page not available etc." even though I am using links on their own web site. Finally found a form to fill out but form would not submit. It kept telling me that I was using an invalid user name and password even though I was entering the information that was emailed to me when I registered it. Still have not received any response from Panda.

Panda, maybe not for you

Posted Jan 3, 2006 - I have a copy of Panda Internet security, when I finish installing the program, it said to upgrade it by downloading a newer version. I download 2006, and it said to uninstall 2005. Uninstall just blinked, said finished and nothing happen. 2005 was not uninstall, 2006 would not install because of having 2005 installed. I finally used system restore to bring regestry back to before Panda, and will now buy Norton again. I have Panda on another system it seems OK on that laptop, both system have XP pro, with service pack 2 and all updates. I got a survey from Panda asking how their tech support was, never recieve any contact with a tech to resolve isssues. So I guess if your in Spain you don't have to have reliable tech support.

Posted Jan 10, 2005 - Overall I was satisfied with this AntiVirus Program. I have installed it on my home desktop computer, and it really keeps my pc clean. But convenience factor is low from my previous programs, but may be that is just the question of getting used to it.
