Posted Aug 24, 2007 - This is the third release of Studio starting with 8, 9 Plus and now 11 unlimite. I am giving up after 2 month of wasted time spent on the phone with tech support and rendering DVD's that don’t play. Its simple, the product does not do what its advertising it can do. There are always dropped frames and the sound gets out of sync with the video on all of the DVDs I’ve made. After tech support was done with its wasted troubleshooting steps I had to reinstall XP. There are too many other video editing software titles out there with better ratings then to waist your money on this one. Don’t let the advertising fool you. After all this trouble I purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 3.0 for less money and I’ve had no problems with it at all. Be sure you have backed up everything on your pc before you install this product and work with the support team because if you loose it all like I did, you will only spend many more hours trying get your pc back to the way it was before you tried Studio 11 Ultimate.

Pinnacle Studio 11 Plus

Strengths:

Easy to use, has numerous features. Can capture from DVD. Voice overs, add background music. Nice title creation.

Weaknesses:

Can hang-up once in a while.

Posted 1 year ago - I've used earlier versions of Pinnacle Studio for a few years now. I like it better than Adobe Premier Express, find it easier to learn. The big knock usually is that it crashes a lot. It crashes, but not that often for me. I just save frequently. If you buy, go for the Plus version. Being able to work with two video tracks is nice. For the price, I don't think you can beat it.

Support editing of High Definition Video

Strengths:

Support of high-def, so you can even upload files directly from HD DVD or Blu-ray source.

Weaknesses:

really needs a dual-core processor with 2GB, especially if you’re thinking of creating high-def content.

Posted Aug 21, 2007 - I am happy to find a software can support the editing from my Panasonic HDC-SD1. This software also support of HD DVD or Blu-ray source. But I am using an old laptop, which is not enough to run this software. You really needs a dual-core processor with 2GB, especially if you’re thinking of creating high-def content.

Posted Dec 30, 2007 - I bought this as an upgrade to my Pinnacle Studio Plus version 9. I always found that a little buggy. This is much better. Easy upgrade, and no crashes yet at all. The workflow is awesome. I was burning a movie onto a DVD in no time. It seems speedier, but that could be my machine. Great support and compatability. It will process LOTS of file formats. It will continue to me my editor of choice.

good software

Posted Mar 9, 2008 - I have been using pinnacle studio since version 8. Frankly, the current version (11) is very much the same with the older versions regarding it functions. The only new feature is that you can now run this software in Vista environment. I have to edit a lot of videos and this software saves me approximately 5 hours every week instead that I have to go to the video studio. However, the software did freeze my computer sometimes and I could not figure out why that happened. Other than that I am happy with this software.

Beyond Expectation

Strengths:

Fantastic video editing, scaleable workspace ---- WOW

Weaknesses:

REsource demand software

Posted Mar 6, 2008 - I do not consider myself a professional editor nor I intent to be, but for someone serious about doing video editing this is a MUST HAVE. It is very user friendly on editing, capturing and exporting video. I upgraded from a version 8 to 11 and to my surprise it was very similar arragement software wise. Much, very much faster than my earlier version and the results were great. The software is more stable and smooth than the earlier version, but it runs BAD when you have internet open at the same time, slows down and even "fights" other programs for resources. I will say, well worth the price paid, specially since you get a rebate if updating from a previous version.

Good but not excellent

Vista compatible, intuitive

Somewhat unstable

Posted Feb 27, 2008 - I am by no means an expert in video editing, and that's what caught my eye about this product. And I wasn't wrong. I find the workflow intuitive enough, and it just does what it promises to do. Unfortunately, I experience -apparently- random crashes. I have tried installing the latest drivers for my video hardware but no luck. They don't happen often enough to make the product useless but one is too many when you are in the middle of editing.

Good product that requires some improvements to make it excellent

Best product for any beginners.

Takes lots of resources on the system.

Posted Feb 26, 2008 - I had issues with this product in the initial stages, had system hanging problem, and could get them resolved. It is a good video editing software for any beginners. Ease of use. Compatible with Vista. Little expensive.

Posted Feb 3, 2008 - Pinnacle makes best video editing softwares. The features are really great. Its so easy and user friendly. Manipulating videos won't be tough at all. It supports AVCHD format being used by some current generation HD camcorders. Its a must have for all video enthusiast.

Looks Promising but Performs Less Than Ideally

Posted Dec 29, 2007 - In many ways, this is your standard Pinnacle product. The features entice you to buy the product, but the performance always disappoints. As is always the case, there are random hangs, crashes, and lockups that will frustrate the heck out of you. It might be worth the trouble if it wasn't priced so high. Priced as is, it's too expensive for such buggy software.

Studio Plus 11 - Easy to use but...

Easy to use, intuitive interface.

Posted Dec 12, 2007 - In general, it\'s intuitive and very easy to use. But it\'s not quite stable. I install on one desktop first, but I couldn\'t even start the program. I then installed on another computer, it worked, but it crashed sometimes.
