Weakness: Error messages when not applicable. I put in a new blank cd and the software would tell me, repeatedly, to insert a blank cd
I had this software for over thirty days and during that time I did not successfully make one cd that would work satisfactorily. I tried to make one vcd with approximately 100 pictures and when it finished it would only show about 20 using the DVD player on the television.
I could not even get the software to make successful backups of files. It would go through the process and then quit or show that it had completed successfully, but when the cd was checked it was still blank.
I have packed up the software and I am returning it to Roxio.
In the mean time I have gone back to Record Now by Veritas which is making backup files adequately, until I find a suitable software to produce photos to DVD.

TopStrengths: Virtually none
Weakness: Nothing works. Follow the manual & instructions -- no results. I thought it was me, but it is a poor, useless program.
I really feel my whole program is unstable. Sometimes I'm blocked from a procedure for no reason, sometimes it just refuses to do anything. After installing and uninstalling for the third time, I did make one copy of an audio CD before the burner refused to burn. I have a multi-media burner which works with all other programs, so that is not the problem. Roxio has programmed useless popups the end of certain procedures, which give you no choices. My money was totally wasted on this one. They do not respond to emails or telephone calls. How can a company remain in business with such poor customer relations??? I also downloaded their patches and new engine, but it refused to load into my program after I got it downloaded. A 5 hour process which was a total bummer -- and I have DSL. I'm erasing all the Roxio files and uninstalling everything connected with it. From now on, if it says Roxio, I will pass.

TopStrengths: Installs easy on Windows XP and updates are easy to get on DSL.
Weakness: I can't make a DVD that won't skip or have pixel problems.
I have contacted tech support via e-mail and have heard no response, except for a automatic e-mail that say that we have received your e-mail. The e-mail tech support is only good for the first 90 days and to call tech support cost $35 dollars each call.
But back to the software, I made a movie, and then tried to burn in onto a DVD, with Roxio software. It comes out that it takes about 1 hours just to make the a 2 GB DVD ready to copy. Then when I stick in in my DVD player it glitches at the starting and ending of each chapter. So then I install the updates, thinking that they must have fixed it. Well they did but now all the pixels are messed up. Everywhere on the movie there is little squares about the size of a centimeter. I thought that maybe I did not have the right file size but when a movie that is less then 4 minutes take over 700MB each and there is no bigger setting then you know you have the biggest and the best.
So over all tech support is lousy and the product is even worse. It is a real pain when you have to get the DVD done by a certain time and you can't trouble shoot every problem with the software.
Oh and people that think I don't have a fast enough computer this is what I have...

TopStrengths: None I could see.
Weakness: Would not install.
Have three computers, all running Windows 98 SE and meeting the system requirements of this software but it not only would not install on the machine it was purchased for but it would not install on any of the machines. In each case it said it was not compatible with "Windows 98 Gold Edition" which I do not have a clue about.
Contacted Roxio for help and heard nothing back from them so this was a total waste of money.

Weakness: Manual not informative, need internet connection on PC to get updates and informative manual, Updates won't install. Software doesn't work.
Purchased the software from a retail store. It took a whole day of installing, uninstalling and reinstalling before I finally gave up and decided to access the Roxio website in search of help. I downloaded the patches and updates totalling about 49mb only to find that these don't install either, another day wasted. I checked out the support pages on the Roxio site and it's overflowing with similar issues. Even more disturbing is the fact that Roxio are asking for Beta testers for their new version 7. Well Roxio, what about testing version 6 first? My advice... Buy something else. Ulead installed first time.

Weakness: Everything. Poor manual, poor read me file, online tech support and customer service non-existent.
I have never seen a product so poorly made before. I haven't been able to create a single fully functional CD since I wasted my money on this product. I've re-installed it at least three times and updated their drivers. Absolutely nothing works with this thing. It has pretty packaging and a pretty desktop face but that's about it. I think the Roxio developers should be held for false advertising and lack of product support. I have tried to contact tech support twice but have yet to get a response. Customer service will only answer questions about how to steal more of your money by buying more products. Live and learn, I guess, I wasted good money on this garbage but I will never buy anything with the Roxio name on it again.

Weakness: I have reinstalled the software three times and it still does not copy the disks, whereas the previous version 3.1 did all of the copying without any problem
I would strongly recommend that people stay away from this product. I made a mistake in buying this product but I would not wish the others fall in a trap. The developers of this software should be ashamed of their program and refund the purchasers with the price that they have paid for this software.

TopStrengths: Does a great job using photos and music to make DVD and on the CD side love how you have a choice to encode your audio file-.wav,,mp3 or wma. This is great when attempting to add music to your Videos.
Weakness: No audio when downloading Video and can only download 1min and 29 seconds @ a time. Terrible technical support or rather NONE!!!!
Roxio is the only software company that give its customer POOR customer and technical support. I wish Compaq would use another company to include in their "bundle software". Lastly, I don't appreciate Roxio's codess that disable me from burning CD's with Microsoft's Windows Media 9 or burning data files also!

I have tryed and tryed to burn Cd and always comes up with error I have uninstalled then installed it again came up with error's again! I do NOT Recomand this program to ANY ONE it is A WAIST of MONEY AND TIME!

TopStrengths: Easy to burn (copy) from one CD to another.
Weakness: Manual for the software is poor. I have had to reload the software 3 times since I have purchased because of errors that I receive.
Very dissatisfied with this product overall. I would highly recommend not purchasing this product. You will spend days trying to accomplish a task and will get very little if any help from the operating manual. I am very computer and software literate and this is one of the worst programs that I have had experience with. As I mentioned above, I have had to reload the software 3 times in order to get the Photosuite to work at various times. Save yourself time and money and do not purchase this product!!!!

TopWeakness: Poor quality video after burning.
After I installed the software, I burned my first DVD. The video clip I used was about 2.5 gigs big and the video was recorded, using ATI recorder, at around 9.3 MBPS in MPEG-2 mode. When the clip is viewed, directly from my hard drive using Cyberlink PowerDVD, the video is absolutly crisp and clear. After I burned it onto a DVD, using default settings, the picture quality was greatly reduced to little square pixels as if I was viewing the video through an insects eyes. Could find no means to increase the resolution. A real disapointment. Not worth buying.

TopStrengths: Great program for burning audio cd's and keeping up with your library of songs. The wave player/recorder is also excellent.
Weakness: I don't know of any, but I haven't tried to do anything with DVD's.
Very good program. Works very well for me. Took me a while to get the hang of the drag to disc but now it works fine.

TopStrengths: 1. Many functions are nearly automatic, so even novice users can get results immediately. 2. Includes photo editor, audio player, more.
Weakness: 1. Resource intensive: installation program sets up several "start-with-Windows" programs. When I changed them to start on demand parts of the suite no longer worked, and provided no error messages.
I'm running Win98SE. I haven't used the DVD functions at all.
I have not had any problems using the main functions, although I had to do a reinstall after I tried manually changing the first installation. I'm not impressed by the depth of the documentation, but the program handled everything I wanted to do (data file and music CD backups, creating audio CDs from MP3 files) simply and without requiring a lot of decisions from me. One problem: I could not get a bootable CD I created to boot my system, although I can boot my system from a commercial bootable CD.
As has been reported elsewhere, the "extra" modules included (such as PhotoSuite and AudioCenter) are weak; I've got better freeware.
I find the user interface acceptable, but there are lots of options and layers of options, and they are not clearly explained either in the help file or in the included manual. While I like getting a printed manual, there isn't much in there which is not obvious even to a novice. I would have liked more technical information (for example, differences in types of CD-RWs, or on the usefulness of alternative recording formats, or even on the difference between "audio" and "data" CD-Rs), and clearer explanations of the differences between various alternatives.

Weakness: error messages that were easily by-passed with some investigation and persistance
Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator 6 has the best interface and the cleanest look of all CD/DVD burning software available. Audiocentral is an easy to use music file playback program that allows maximum customization. Editable track tags, playlist manageability, and beautiful visualization are just a few of things you can do with the AudioCentral program. The floating shortcut bar is one of the nicer shortcut bars I've seen (we all remember office 97!). The many reviews of how the background activities eat up ram and slow the comp down are due to the fact that those same people have not kept up with the requirements (some still running windows 98). For an easy-to-use, all-purpose media utility, Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator 6 is the choice of the pros.

Look elsewhere for a solid DVD recording platform...The developers should work more on integrating all the features. Inconsistant methods, inconsistant results. Very poorly organized. Too many errors without solutions...installs with errors...etc, etc. Ever wonder why you can only return software before you open it?

TopStrengths: Didn't find any. I uninstalled the product after I concluded it was too much trouble.
Weakness: Five background processes eat up resources. It *really* slowed down Windows startup, then caused a shut-down hang. Forced product registration. Drive locks and won't eject CD-R.
I installed this product twice, but it was still uncooperative. It locked a CD-R in the drive, then nothing could access the disc because it said some (anonymous) process was already using the drive (but nothing else was running!) I went to the Roxio web site for help. There were lots of unhappy people there – I'd recommend a visit *before* you buy this product (you must register to look at the posted comments). I couldn't find solutions to my problems, but I did learn that the updates won't install unless you register the product first! You'd better read owners comments about the updates too. I ended up uninstalling this suite, and reloaded B's Clip. In my opinion, I wasted my $50 on this.

TopStrengths: Nice program when you can A) get it working and B)stop it from intefering with or corrupting other programs.
Weakness: One of my biggest gripes w/Roxio and Symantec is the fact that, by installing Roxio CD & DVD Creator 6, I somehow trigger the piracy protection on my Symantec Programs and they require reactivation.
Now, Once you have gotten nowhere with Roxio's Support as to the problem and had to go through an act of Congress to convince Symantec that you are not using one program on more than one computer, you get fed up and try to uninstall Roxio "Easy" (where they came up with "easy" is anyone's guess) CD & DVD Creator 6 and unless you used software such as Norton Cleansweep's Smart sweep, you find out just how difficult it is to COMPLETELY remove this animal. (which may be part of the problem with the software conflicts as well.)
It was an nice program when it worked. It just doesn't "play nice" with other software.
