5 Star Review Excellent and cool camera bag for Canon Pro1 digital camera!

Strengths:

Blue color option rugged material Good quality metal parts for strap Good padding to protect camera and front pocket to hold batteries and small

Weaknesses:

Looks big on the outside, mainly due to thick foam walls for protection

Posted Aug 4, 2005 - I found the 5696 to be a good fit for my Canon Pro1 digital camera which has a longer lens that regular point-and-shoot digicams. The blue color, good quality material and design are motivations for me to keep my camera in the case wherever I go.

4 Star Review Solid product

Strengths:

Made from very tough water resistant material. Perfect fit for Canon S5IS. Ample pockets for memory cards, batteries, cables etc.

Weaknesses:

No strap for securing a mini-tripod or Gorillapod. The plastic clasp that holds the case closed is weak.

Posted Apr 8, 2008 - This is my second Tamrac case (the first was a 5693 for my underwater personal shooter) and I love it. There are one or two small features missing, but the fit is dead on for my S5IS. Don't let other reviews fool you, the Tamrac Explorer is NOT a good fit for the S5IS. The 5696 is tailored to this specific camera. High marks all around except for the terrible plastic clasp they use for the lid. I almost would have preferred some kind of magnetic clamp or a zipper. One handed open/closing is impossible.

4 Star Review Tamrac 5696

Strengths:

Great construction, many features for small size

Weaknesses:

Could use a slightly deeper external pocket

Posted Apr 20, 2007 - This is my 4th Tamrac photo bag, all with their own purpose. This was purchased for a Sony Mini DV camcorder. The bag holds the camcorder, charger, extra battery, 3 extra tapes, and the remote control. Tamrac makes a fine bag, and this is no exception. The only thing I'd like in this bag is a slightly deeper external pocket.

3 Star Review Decent camera bag

Strengths:

Well padded, multiple pockets

Weaknesses:

awkward clasp

Posted Feb 1, 2007 - This camera bag seems well made. It has good padding and multiple pockets. It is also a decent size for large cameras. My only complaint is that the flap to close the bag is closed by both velcro and a clasp. Usually this would be good because of the extra security. However the clasp is short and awkward making opening the clasp difficult.

5 Star Review It fits the Canon S3 IS

Strengths:

It fits the camera I bought it for.

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Oct 23, 2006 - I bought this to hold a Canon S3 IS. I have a 52 mm lens adaptor with a UV filter and lens hood (from www.lensmateonline.com... ) and it all fits snugly into this case.

4 Star Review Nice camera bag for my FZ20

Strengths:

The black color bag looks so cool and elegant. The materials seem of good quality, but I have to see what happens with the day to day use. Good cushioning to protect the camera.

Weaknesses:

Maybe the compartments for the extra attachments are slightly tight.

Posted Nov 22, 2005 - I bought this camera bag for my Panasonic FZ20, I think was a good choice. You can carry it to everywhere because of its compact size. Besides it´s prepared for you can carry it in your belt, or like the majority of the camera bags, by shoulder strap, that could be important, depending where you go, or what else are you carrying.

4 Star Review a perfect carrying case for canon IS S2

Strengths:

1. lightweight, easy to carry 2. easy to pull out the camera 3. space enough to hold other attachments such as a few sets of batteries, SD cards, and USB cable 4. compact and good looking

Weaknesses:

1. should strap is too slim and hard to adjust 2. battery compartment is a little tight

Posted Aug 8, 2005 - I bought this carrying bag for canon IS S2, a good match. I traveled to NYC this weekend and took many photos. It was very convenient for me to pull out and put in the camera. You can carry it in belt or by should strap. I like this carrying case!
