Good value, serves the purpose
relatively inexpensive way to attach your Lifetime brand backboard and hoop to your pole or wall.
challenging to put together, could be beefed up a bit.
Posted Jul 24, 2006 - I bought the 1044 adj. mt. to go with the Lifetime backboard and hoop and mount on the wall surface of my garage. In assembling the unit, one must look at the instructions on both the backboard/hoop and the mount as you'll get nowhere just looking at one. BTW the you may be disappointed with the Lifetime backboards, although metal framed, the clear backboard material is only about 1/8 in thick. That coupled with the mount not being too solid, makes for a system that is looser than you'd like. Rebounds off the rim or board are not as lively as they should be. That said, when I completed the installation, I'm fairly satisfied. I firmed up the mound a bit by adding some washers to take up some of the "play" in the 1/2" bolts on the pivot points. I used 1 washer ea on the top 2 pivot joints and 3 ea on the lower 2. Seemed to help quite a bit. I sprayed a clear poly coating on exposed metal areas and put a bit of grease on the pivot points and cross bolts. I looking at the backboard a piece of plywood can easily be added to the panels on each side of the rim if on wanted to make it a bit more substantial. For just shooting hoops and mounting a budget backboard on your garage this works fine. Raising and lowering works fine.
