Does what it's supposed to but not a great deal.
It works.
Cost and only good for three months.
Posted Mar 14, 2007 - The F-201R filter replacement will make your water look clearer and taste better. I love the taste of the water from the insinkerator. It is much "fresher" than the water from the tap. These filters will not disappoint. The only downside of these filters is the need to be replaced every three months. Most filters last 6 months. So while you can get 2 filters for $45 or so, that is only going to last you six months. For a year you'll be paying around $90. Insinkerator also makes an F-501R replacement filter that is a little more expensive (around $70 dollars for TWO) but it lasts 6 months. Both filter out chlorine and improve taste and odor, however, the 501R also reduces Cysts (Giardia & Cryptosporidium) and turbidity. I have used these in the past and they work great. I only bought the 201R because I had forgotten about the 501R. Both result in great tasting water. I like the convenience of changing my filters in the kitchen at the same time (the one for the insinkerator and the one for the refrigerator). Because of the extra cost and the inconvenience of having to change it every three months, I have only given the 201R three stars. Based on taste alone I would give it 4.
