Best battery charger on the market
Many options, easy on batteries, well-built, compact, LED display lets you know the exact state of your batteries.
Two-piece design
Posted 1 year ago - After much research, I chose this charger because (a) it has independent LED readouts which tell you exactly how healthy/charged each battery is and (b) it has several different charging modes which allow to "refresh" batteries that are not performing optimally. It's also easy on the batteries, able to charge slowly and top off with a trickle charge. And it has the usual safety features (temperature sensor, etc.) and works worldwide. Thus far it seems to work as advertised. I would have liked a one-piece design, where the ac plug is integrated right into the unit, but this is really a minor issue, one of purely personal preference. I chose the BC700 over the BC900 charger+batteries+case bundle. The charger is virtually identical, and I already have a bunch of great Sanyo eneloop batteries and don't need anymore. Also, the La Crosse batteries, unlike the charger, don't seem to be of particularly high quality. The carrying case that the BC900 comes with would have been handy, but is not worth the price differential to me. Bottom line: Spent twenty-five on this high quality charger, and buy some quality rechargeable batteries (those that come pre-charged are generally better than those that are not). You won't have to spend more on portable power for a long time, and you'll know exactly how healthy batteries all along.
