Posted Jan 11, 2007 - I purchased this for my son when he was 2, last yr, right before spring, & yes when he 1st drove it, we had to show him to push & hold down the padal, & his steering wasnt good, we had to keep helping him otherwise would steer into the side of our house, lol, but once summer came, we practiced w/ him, showing him he has to steer, & he mastered it perfectly. & still being 2 years old. One of us or both husband & I or his 12 yr old brother is always w/ him when he's riding his car, he is never alone in it, so I think this car is great! even for 2 year olds, even when they at 1st dont know how to steer, u walking bye them helping steer at times, is real fun for them, So I have not had any problems w/ this car as of yet, and the fun level for my son, & now this upcoming summer his 1 1/2 yr old brother will be joining him in the passenger side, This car is great, we all love it, Just wish had rubber wheels, so dont have to help push off when on grass, lol

Safe?

Strengths:

great intertainment for the right age

Weaknesses:

unsafe for kids under the age of 3

Posted Nov 27, 2006 - my cousin is 2 and her parents just got this item for her, she loves it but she does not have hand eye cordination. she can hardly reach the gas peddle and does not no how to turn the well she is not ready for it. if you are considering buying this item make sure your little one can take the responceabilty. remeber to never let him or her drive on the road, you never know if some person is speeding down the road. like just recently in New Mexico 5 people were killed in a drunk driving acident i am not saying not to buy this just to be carefull beceaus you never know. and please read the safty paper that comes to prevent any accidents
