Good manual machine

Strengths:

Cheap, fewer batteries

Weaknesses:

Inconsistant, bulky as other have said.

Posted 1 year ago - I like the manual part because it takes fewer batteries and it costs less. I bought it for free after rebates at Fry's. It is bulky because of the inflator. If you take a second reading a few minutes later, it will be a little off, but these electronic devices are not supposed to be more accurate than a sphygmomanometer (try saying that 10 times!).

LifeSource Manual Blood Pressure Monitor

Strengths:

Very nice having one in my home instead of having to go out and do it. Its very practical to own one and monitor myself.

Weaknesses:

I found medium was too bulky for me. Size was larger then I expected.

Posted Apr 12, 2008 - I am very happy with the Lifesource monitor. I was surprised how easy it was to do myself once I got the hang of it. LifeSource Blood Pressure monitor works as described for a manual blood pressure monitor.

Strengths:

Study, Memory for 30 readings, Irregular heart rate detection

Weaknesses:

Bulkier

Posted Feb 19, 2008 - I have been using this sphygmomanometer for my mother and myself. It is quite easy to operate and is steady. Its capability to store 30 readings helps in averaging the readings and therefore helps our physician as well. It detects irregular heart rate also. Only downside I have found is that it is slightly bulkier.

Manual blood pressure monitor

Strengths:

Works as advertised. Simple with little gimmicks Stores 30 previous readings. Can do average of readings

Weaknesses:

A little difficult to do a self measurement

Posted Jan 10, 2008 - It is a manually inflatable BP monitor that does its job fairly well. The key thing about measuring BP is consistency - same arm, same time of day and same instrument. This establishes a trend which can then be monitored for a deviation. The 30 memory store comes in handy to do this. The only drawback i faced was that, taking a self measurement is a little difficult as u have to keep the arm in position and inflate at the same time.

Easy to use Blodd Pressure Monitor that is accurate

Strengths:

Easy to use. Accurate. Affordable.

Weaknesses:

It will always try to average the reading with the previous readings. This makes it less likely to be used by 2 persons.

Posted Nov 10, 2007 - This is a simple blood pressure monitor that is reasonably accurate. It's easy to use with manual inflation. The price is reasonable. It has a feature to automatically average the previous readings to get the "more accurate" readings. But it seems there is no way to turn it off. So if you want to use this one for 2 different persons, bad luck.

Posted Nov 4, 2007 - It works great. I like it. The price is extremely affordable. The rebate discount comes in super fast! This is a manual inflate monitor. Manual inflate sounds not as great as the powered inflate. But it is actually not a big deal. You can't complaint from the price.

Readings are consistent

Strengths:

No complex assembly required, straight forward use. Consistent values on multiple readings.

Weaknesses:

Bulky.

Posted Oct 11, 2007 - I have been using this lifesource blood pressure monitor advanced manual inflate UA-705v for about 3 weeks and I am happy with the performance of this blood pressure monitor. Values are consistent across readings with very little variation. It was very easy to assemble and the quick start guide help me to get it on within minutes. This takes less than a minute to measure and I am happy with my purchase so far. On the downside, it is bulky, taking it with you for a travel may be annoying because of its size and the manual inflate tubes. Also, please take a note to buy the correct size of the hand cuff. These monitors come in a medium and large size hand cuffs and the size is mentioned in the box.
