I ordered some shades as a Christmas gift for my mother in law on December 5. My mother in law ordered the same shades, same time. It's April and neither of us have received the shades. When she calls, she is told that they are on back order. When I call, I get a message or a teller saying that someone will call me back, and no one ever does. I am starting to think this company is a scam and I will call my credit card company tomorrow to dispute. Worst service ever, if the company is legit. I just lost about $60 unless my cc company will credit me back from 4 months ago. Retailer Response (04/12/2012): This customer was notified immediately that these shades were discontinued. This customer was never charged for her order because they were discontinued. We also left several messages since Dec for this customer. |

Horrendous. I placed an online order on 2/29. They didn't process my order until 3/13. Unfortunately, I was out of the country and my bank account had been hacked, so my bank declined the transaction. This was not their fault or mine. When I got back in town on 3/17, I began calling but couldn't get a callback. Finally got someone to talk to me and gave that person a new card #. On 3/26 they charged my account for MORE than what my online order had totaled. No shipment of the merchandise though. I called repeatedly and Lila would say, "I'll find out something" then literally hang up on me. If I managed to talk to Greg, he'd say "I'll find out what's happening and call you back" but would never call me back. I got fed up and called today to have them cancel my order and even that was an ordeal. Instead of a simple "I'm sorry about the mix-up," the guy actually said to me, "It's not our fault you gave us the wrong credit card info!" They did send an e-mail confirming the cancellation. |

Without question the worst purchasing and customer service experience I've ever had. Website said "delivery in 7 - 10 days". When I received my order confirmation (after the purchase) it indicated "contains an item which requires special shipping arrangements" and that they would contact me to coordinate. After a week of not hearing from them, I called them to check on the status of the order. The woman who answered the phone said "order number?", "What number can we reach you at?", "ok, we call you back" and hangs up before I can say anything. Called back two weeks later and left a message.
I got a call back from a guy at Bowery today. He explained that the items I had ordered were on back order and wouldn't be available to ship until mid-May. I said I would like to cancel the order and I felt misled by their website which specified 7-10 days. He then told me they run a legitimate business, that I needed to get my facts straight and that I sounded like a d******bag. Unreal! Retailer Response (04/04/2012): This customer is 100% lying and being dishonest. The del times posted on each product page are estimated as is clearly stated under all the del times posted for each manufacturer. That is why we do not charge our customers until we either have tracking information or a confirmed ship date. To check the eta of an item or to expedite an order, it clearly states to call or email customer service and we can check and verify the lead times. When we called this person about his order he flipped out and started to swear and curse at one of our customer service reps and tried to black mail us by saying if we don't provide him an additional discount on his order he will write a bad review. |

Their website showed 'In Stock" however after a week and a half, they just called to let me know the item is backordered until mid-May. Retailer Response (03/22/2012): We do not show inventory feeds from the manufacturers because they are not accurate and everything changes on a daily basis so we have no idea what this person is referring to, that is why we say to call or email customer service to confirm the eta of an item to make sure its in stock. |

Great pricing on lighting BUT beware because getting a discount makes the product Non returnable even when the chandelier was received damaged. The company said a new one would be sent out. After waiting a month I emailed them only to find they had not shipped it. Retailer Response (02/29/2012): This customer ordered something and received her order but it was received damaged, she did not want a replacement she just wanted to return the fixture. We explained to her that the manufacturer will replace the fixture at no charge, and that she used a special promotional discount we were offering at the time for which excluded the item from being returnable because of the promotional discount that she received. All of our polices are clearly stated and must be agreed to before you can buy anything from our online store. The replacement fixture was on back order and was shipped as soon as it was able to. |

Never received the item and i had to contact them 4 times before findning out the item was back ordered. I was promised a call back after my 3rd call and had to call them again the next day because I didn't hear from them. No apology for not keeping me informed or for the lack of communication. |

Site looks professional and I like the price guarantee but the guarantee is only to compare to merchants they choose to. I tried to get the lower price but was denied. Also, it's been 10 business days since my order and have yet to receive a shipping confirmation. Called them and they said they'd call me back with a status but I never got a call back. My credit card has been billed but nothing is happening with fulfilling my order. |
