Ordered a Garmin GPS, received an email on Sunday before it shipped that I need to call them. This was a scam for them to try to upsell me to other options/ products. Then they said what I had ordered was a grey market item ( not what was on their web site). I cancelled the order. These guys are trouble, stay away from them. |

Buyer beware. I went on line to order a Canon Power Shot as a birthday present. I did all of my research and saw that Broadway had the lowest price on the web. I thought why not give them a shot. I should have known from the time that I entered my credit card information in and had to contact my credit card company to put an alternate shipping address to my job. No big deal here, then it starts. I received an e-mail confirmation saying that they needed additional information before they would ship my order and gave me the phone number. I called and spoke to one of the customer service reps who immediately went into this sales pitch to sell me everything under the sun. Once he was through he told me that this was a Japanese model! I told him that it did not say that on the website. He then proceeded to tell me that the US model was 30.00 more (there goes my savings on this camera). After that I told him to just cancel the order. |

I ordered the Canon Powershot A720 IS via the internet on a Sunday. I needed the camera by Tuesday because I was leaving on vacation Wednesday morning. I spoke to a customer service representative on Sunday who assured me the camera would be there on Tuesday. I also received a call on Monday afternoon verifying my address - again, I asked if they were positive that the camera would be there on Tuesday. I was reassured. I got home from work at 1:30 am on Wednesday morning - no camera. I called Broadway Photo at 7:00 am and they told me that the item was backordered. I was never contacted with this information even though it was apparently available at some point on Monday. They told me it would be one to two weeks before the item was available. The website still says that it is in stock . . . Terrible, terrible customer service and completely SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES. |

These people will scam you every which way. They have a seemingly good price on their site. But then they call you back claiming they just want to clarify your address -- but it's really to sell you their "options". I finally agreed to just add a cable for like $175. When I FINALLY got my order, I was charged another $411.?? They claimed I requested "White Glove" delivery -- which we did NOT and that I wanted their "package" which includes stand, cable, etc. These people are SHEISTY!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! Also - VERY VERY RUDE and condescending on the phone -- IF you can get them on the phone. YUK! |

I ordered CANON S870 IS from Broadway Photo, and found it was a Japanese model, so everything is in Japanese. There was no indication of this on the web, and why are they selling a product in Japanese in America? Do they think we all can speak/read Japanese? So, I had to cancel the order. I strongly recommend not to buy any, but if you have to, just make sure what you're buying from this company. |

I echo these other valid complaints. I placed an overnight delivery, then got an email to confirm. When I called they tried to sell me a $100 battery upgrade. When I declined, they told me it would be an imported model and came with a Chinese only manual. Plus there was no warranty. The rep said that my acknowledgment would be recorded. I reluctantly agreed. Then he told me it would take 4-6 weeks. This was a gift for my son and paid extra for overnight delivery. This wait was unsatisfactory. When I told the rep off, he called me back repeatedly over and over again. Although I told him it was harassment, he repeated. Now I am worried because they have my credit card information. I reported this to the better business bureau and urge others experience this shared experience to do the same. |

I placed an order with Broadway Photo early one morning and received an email stating that the order was received and to check the website the status. I then checked the status, the website said to call their toll-free # for verification. I called all day and got a busy signal. So I called the next day. Once a rep answered, he pointed out that the model ordered was an Imported model (Japanese). We referenced the hard to find notice on the webpage at the bottom of the Included Accessories tab. Then he asked if I would like the USA model for $40 more. Then he tried to convince me that the competitor was not offering a USA model for $202. I referenced the exact description on the webpage and I was correct. After telling me they would not price match the USA model with competitor, the rep asked "So what do you want me to do? Do you want me to cancel the order?" I found this experience inconvenient, rude, and unpleasant. No price protection honored. This is a shady operation. |

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS. They give the "best" deal on the camera because they make you buy accessories. If you don't buy accessorries it seems like they make you cancel your order(gatherring from other reviews). I placed my online order for a standard Nikon D60 camera at $511. Great price. I got the email stating "must call to confirm order". I called and got a fast talking salesman who tried to sell me everything under the sun. I fell for the "package deal". I got 2 "extented life" batterries and a new charger because the one that came with it just wouldn't do. They didn't send me the charger. Their customer service line was all tied up so I couldn't get through. I looked at the site and the charger that came in the box is a fast charger. It came with the camera and i think they are trying to say that they upgraded it. BS. I am very angry. $511 camera + mem card $89 went to $600 then with the "package" went to $950. $350 package deal was garbage. cheap cheap cheap crapola |

SCAM ARTIST...After ordering a digital camera online, they sent me an email stating that I needed to contact them before they could process my order. They supposedly just wanted to confirm my shipping address. The representative first tried to sell me a memory card, which I told him we had found cheaper elsewhere. Then, he tried to sell me rechargeable batteries, which I declined. He also said my item would ship in 5-7 business days, even though the website says usually ships in 2 days. I asked about upgrading shipping, which he stated would cost $19.99 for 3-5 days, which again I declined. Finally, before we hung up, he stated that we had ordered the "import" version of the camera, and asked if I wanted to change it to the U.S. version. I asked him what the difference was, and he stated that the import version had Chinese writing on the camera and the instruction book. He said that the U.S. version cost cost $59 more, ($369). Needless to say, I cancelled my order! |

I ordered $1450 worth of photography equipment (2 cameras and accessories). The salesman talked me into upgrading 1 camera to a magnesium body and adding a rapid charger and 2 long life batteries for each camera. When I received the order both rapid chargers and 2 batteries were missing. Also the magnesium body camera was plastic. I tried to call them for three days before I reached customer service because I would be placed on hold for 30 to 45 minutes every time. I complained about the order and was told they would ship the missing items but the camera (Rebel xti) only came in plastic. They said I misunderstood and only the internal parts were magnesium. I received the second order for the missing items and got 2 chargers but one was the wrong one. Again I tried to call but was placed on hold forever. I decided to cut my losses and keep what I had. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau. |

I ordered a Sony Alpha a200 on March 11. I was called the day that I placed the order by someone trying to sell me more accessories. I declined. I still have not received the item, and I am cancelling my order today. Their website still advertises the item as available and ships within 1-2 days. What a complete disappointment! Here is the letter I sent them. It speaks for its self: I am writing to express my sincere disappointment with my interaction with your company. I ordered the a sony miniDV camera a couple of days ago on your website. Today I received an email directing me to call for confirmation before the camera could be shipped. When I called, the technician confirmed my address somewhat unnecessarily and then proceeded to ask me if I wished to purchase any accessories. I could live with this unsolicited solicitation but what happened next was unacceptable. When I declined any accessories he asked me very condescendingly "do you even know what comes with the camera?" He then went on to inform me that the camera that I had ordered had only a 15 minute battery and was an "international" model. He encouraged me to order the US model with the longer lasting battery. This was clearly a bait and switch technique and he acted offended when I pointed this out. |

(Edited April 02nd by dongone) Ordered a Canon SD700 after calling the store by telephone, and having a "live" person assure me the camera would be the "English" version. Got an email the next day instructing me to call them to "verify" and "process" my order. I spent at least 90 minutes on the phone, being put on hold, trying to "verify" my order. It was the "bait-and-switch" crap! I was finally told that the camera I had ordered was the "Non-English" version, even though I had called the store BEFORE my order, and was told that the camera for sale was indeed the "ENGLISH" version. I immediately canceled the order. This store is an ongoing SCAM. |

I can't believe Broadway Photo is in business. I ordered a digital camera, and someone called to "confirm" shipping info. He then asked if I wanted to also get a rechargeable battery, which I didn't know at the time was supposed to come with the camera, but I said OK. He also added in a $70 charger without even telling me. He then tried to sell me overpriced memory without success. Then when he told me the total of what I'd "agreed" to, I noticed it jumped up from what we really agreed to so I told him I didn't want any extras, just the camera that I originally ordered. Then he said oh by the way, the camera I ordered was the international version - I'd have to pay $60 extra for the US version. I said to him I didn't order the intl' version, and there would be trouble for them if they sent me an item that I didn't order. He kept insisting it was the intl' version, until I had to cancel my order. I hope they don't charge my credit card - I wouldn't put anything past them. |

AKA Cameraaddict.com. I ordered a Sony TV from them. They insisted on a return phone call. On the phone call they asked about a number of add-ons. I refused. Then they offered to sell me the pedestal the TV sits on, for an extra $150. The picture on the unit has a pedestal. I canceled the order. |

Do yourself a favor and avoid this company, IT IS A SCAM. They offer a price comparable to other discounters, but once you call to "confirm your order" (they send you an email instructing you to do so), they take days to call back. Once they do, they will tell you that you must spend an extra (in our case) $70 for the model with "instructions in english", as their discount products are all the non-import models - oh, and they don't come up with the proper batteries (also an extra charge). They probably should not be in business. |

A Bait & Switch SCAM in the worst way. After placing an order, I received an e-mail to call "In order to verify your order." Instead, I was offered a battery pack for a high, but, when I balked, descending, price, followed by the offer of an "American" version of the camera rather than the foreign version I had (unknowingly) ordered, again for more money. I completely canceled the order. Unprofessional, unscrupulous, unreliable, dishonest, and greedy. I will NEVER deal with them again and would warn all potential buyers: caveat emptor – buyer beware! |

This was one of the most horrible shopping experiences I've ever had. These people were so dishonest about their product as well as the terrrible customer service. They have complete false advertising!!! I ordered a digital camera for a great price or so I thought, and someone called to confirm shipping info and then asked if I wanted to upgrade to a rechargeable battery as well as an english version of the camera. The website I ordered from gave specifications that it already came with that battery and there was no indication that it would be getting a japenese model camera, (meaning all the menus and writing on the camera would not be written english). I was so upset that I cancelled the order right then and there. They were totally scamming me and everyone else that has ordered their products. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!! |

I placed an order for a Sony digital camera and was sent an email to verify the order. The sales price was the lowest on the planet. It was too good to be true! Anyway, I called the number provided, but could not reach anyone for days. Finally, reached someone and they tried to sell me additional products. I said No and the sales rep said fine and told me that the order will be processed and shipped next day. Well, the next day, I got an email saying the order is backordered (3 days later) and was advised it would take 6-8 weeks. It's ok for orders to be backordered, but why was it not listed on the website that it was backordered, and why did the rep not tell me it was backordered. Bwayphoto.com is a scam website with very poor customer service and they are not to be trusted. Do not buy from these guys! |

I was scamed! Ordered a 250W Garmin GPS and the responding e-mail said to call them to complete the order. My original price was $260. They convinced my to "up-grade" to receive a unit with longer battery life, both ac & dc chargers, and screen protectors for $330. I did not receive the ac charger. I feel that I paid more for the same thing that I had originaly ordered. I will not do business with them in the future. They should be removed from Google for comparison shopping. |
