I purchased a Panasonic TM300 from Broadway Photo. Before I ordered I expressed concern over the amount of negative comments but I was reassured 2009 brought new management and better service. The website showed available in stock ships 2-3 days. They constantly told me it was going to ship in a couple days but I finally found out from customer service they oversold and are waiting for the shipment. Finally on this third week they told me they are expecting delivery this week. same story. I found out through other suppliers and Panasonic that they are not shipping until July! Calling Broadway is a joke as they answer the phone "Hello" barley let you get your speak, then xfer you as you sit on hold for 10min +. I should also add they did apologize and offered to overnight the cam to me for free once it arrived. Who knows if this would have really happened or not. I would never order from them again and I would never recommend them to anyone. Overall Rating

I purchased a Canon SD990IS from this company for $308. A representative of the company called me to confirm the order and talked me into a "special" memory card required for $29. It turned out to be a "normal" 1 GB memory card!!!! Also tried to hustle me for an additional $39 for handling. I told him to cancel the order and he dropped the handling fee!! I would not ever call them again. I feel I was really hustled for the memory card and he really tried to stick me with the handling charge until I told him to cancel. Stay away!! Overall Rating

I bought a very expensive camera from them. Broadway Photos had it for much cheaper than Amazon or any other store. Before buying, I had read many bad reviews and was hesitant, but still decided to call them and judge myself accordingly. I went through really easily. I talked to the operator who seemed reasonable. I made my order over the phone. He did ask several times if I wanted to add anything else to the order, but when I declined, he stopped - nothing intolerable. The only problem I had with the order was the $29.00 fee for "handling and insurance," although my order qualified for free shipping. However, even with that charge, the camera was still a great bargain, so I did not mind paying it. They shipped the order the next day with UPS, and it arrived in 2 days. Everything was included as described. After all doubts I had based on bad reviews of others, I ended up having a really good experience with them. Overall Rating

Broadway photo is a nightmare :-( I wish I red theese reviews before I placed the order. I was really excited about the price and was unprepared for a scammers like them. Gave me a great lesson for the next time. I have paid for 3 days delivery. After one week I have called their awful customer service. They told me (after 30mins of waiting) that they need to deliver my camcorder directly from manufacturer which will take 2 more weeks!! Well, I waited. After that I called again, they told me it will be delivered tomorrow. Was not! Day after that, I have called them again. After 50mins of waiting on the phone they told me another reason of another delay, that would take a few more weeks :) so I cancelled the order. I feel great now... I have ordered another camera from abesofmaine, today. The same day I got tracking number from UPS. My new camera is on the way already!!! I got many information emails from them. What a difference. This review matches the same comments as you'll see from many other reviewers and they all are the same: this place is TOTALLY unprofessional and unethical; do NOT do business with them! It's all a bait and switch set up -- they advertise inappropriately low prices and then you have to call to complete the order and they tell you lies to make you upgrade to a higher price ("the battery they send you doesn't work very well..."). They talked my wife into spending $200 more than the original price of the camera and the stuff they sent us wasn't what they told we were getting, and some if it didn't even work with the camera (the case didn't fit). We called back to return it and now we're in a shouting match with the guy on the phone and he's charging us a $67 restocking fee! STAY AWAY!!!!!! Overall Rating

Broadway Photo should not be allowed to provide false advertisement about their products. It was a total Bait-and-switch experience. I purchased the Sony Alpha DSLR-A300, 10.2 Megapixel, SLR, Digital Camera w/ 18-70mm Lens Kit. The Sales person called to confirm my order. He asked if I had any questions. This is a key factor. When you buy from Broadway you must ask: Is this Camera Refurbished? 2) Is this an import Model? The Broadway sales person told me that the camera I had purchased was the “import model” and thus the operating language was Japanese. When I told him that this was not specified in their website he told me that indeed it was. Categorically false! He also proceeded to tell me that the US model was available for 599 and that was a discounted price. The regular price is 650. I went to Amazon.com and saw brand new US model with Us Warranty that was available for $535 --even cheaper than Broadway. Buyer beware Overall Rating

Broadway Photo advertises prices (in this case Canon Rebel XSI) very much under other retailers' prices. They give you even some free add ons. Well, once you order you are asked to call in for verification. After 40 minutes in the line, somebody really picks up the phone. But only to tell you that the KIT battery pack only works for 15-20 minutes (Broadway photo here is some news for you: it works much longer!!!!). Well, the agent tries to sell you an overpriced battery pack. If you say no, suddendly the part is not in stock any more. My tip: STAY AWAY! You will pay more at the end from this dealer!!! I cancelled my order! Overall Rating

I tried to purchase a Sony Cybershot camera from Broadway Photo off of the websire. The company would not ship to an address other than the one on the credit card. When they called multiple times during the day and would not leave a message. When I was finally able to pick up the call, the person attempted to up sell me on all of the accessories I was purchasing. On top of trying to up sell me, the price was not $15 higher than the price I was given when I ordered. After the extra $15 it is the same price as a reputable company like Dell. Ultimately I cancelled the order. Overall Rating

I read about them and knew what to expect, but the price was good and I decided to give it a try. Sent a few pre-sale emails and got fast answers. Placed an order for a rather expensive digital camera ("in stock, ships in 2-3 days") and got a "call us" email, as expected. When I called I was first asked what type of extra battery I need, because "this is a high-end camera and the supplied battery will only last for 15 pictures" (!!!). I insisted that I don't want an extra battery, so the guy went on and asked me if I wanted the "domestic model, only $110 more", becuase the "imported model" (?) is out of stock and I'll have to wait for 4-6 weeks "and I'm not sure whether we'll be able to ship it to you at then". I wanted to see what will happen next so I said OK, and then I sent them several emails asking why the site still says "in stock" for the imported (?) model - but this time of course I didn't get any reply. After a few emails I called and cancelled the order. Customers, beware. Overall Rating

Their website lies. Their sales people lie. The website says "in-stock", but later they call you and tell you it will be delayed. For days after they called me to say they were out of stock, the website still said "in-stock, ships in 1-2 days." They try to upsell overpriced accessories and play on you ignorance. Overall Rating

Ordered a Garmin GPS, received an email on Sunday before it shipped that I need to call them. This was a scam for them to try to upsell me to other options/ products. Then they said what I had ordered was a grey market item ( not what was on their web site). I cancelled the order. These guys are trouble, stay away from them. Overall Rating

Buyer beware. I went on line to order a Canon Power Shot as a birthday present. I did all of my research and saw that Broadway had the lowest price on the web. I thought why not give them a shot. I should have known from the time that I entered my credit card information in and had to contact my credit card company to put an alternate shipping address to my job. No big deal here, then it starts. I received an e-mail confirmation saying that they needed additional information before they would ship my order and gave me the phone number. I called and spoke to one of the customer service reps who immediately went into this sales pitch to sell me everything under the sun. Once he was through he told me that this was a Japanese model! I told him that it did not say that on the website. He then proceeded to tell me that the US model was 30.00 more (there goes my savings on this camera). After that I told him to just cancel the order. Overall Rating

I ordered the Canon Powershot A720 IS via the internet on a Sunday. I needed the camera by Tuesday because I was leaving on vacation Wednesday morning. I spoke to a customer service representative on Sunday who assured me the camera would be there on Tuesday. I also received a call on Monday afternoon verifying my address - again, I asked if they were positive that the camera would be there on Tuesday. I was reassured. I got home from work at 1:30 am on Wednesday morning - no camera. I called Broadway Photo at 7:00 am and they told me that the item was backordered. I was never contacted with this information even though it was apparently available at some point on Monday. They told me it would be one to two weeks before the item was available. The website still says that it is in stock . . . Terrible, terrible customer service and completely SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES. Overall Rating

These people will scam you every which way. They have a seemingly good price on their site. But then they call you back claiming they just want to clarify your address -- but it's really to sell you their "options". I finally agreed to just add a cable for like $175. When I FINALLY got my order, I was charged another $411.?? They claimed I requested "White Glove" delivery -- which we did NOT and that I wanted their "package" which includes stand, cable, etc. These people are SHEISTY!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! Also - VERY VERY RUDE and condescending on the phone -- IF you can get them on the phone. YUK! Overall Rating

I ordered CANON S870 IS from Broadway Photo, and found it was a Japanese model, so everything is in Japanese. There was no indication of this on the web, and why are they selling a product in Japanese in America? Do they think we all can speak/read Japanese? So, I had to cancel the order. I strongly recommend not to buy any, but if you have to, just make sure what you're buying from this company. Overall Rating

I echo these other valid complaints. I placed an overnight delivery, then got an email to confirm. When I called they tried to sell me a $100 battery upgrade. When I declined, they told me it would be an imported model and came with a Chinese only manual. Plus there was no warranty. The rep said that my acknowledgment would be recorded. I reluctantly agreed. Then he told me it would take 4-6 weeks. This was a gift for my son and paid extra for overnight delivery. This wait was unsatisfactory. When I told the rep off, he called me back repeatedly over and over again. Although I told him it was harassment, he repeated. Now I am worried because they have my credit card information. I reported this to the better business bureau and urge others experience this shared experience to do the same. Overall Rating

I placed an order with Broadway Photo early one morning and received an email stating that the order was received and to check the website the status. I then checked the status, the website said to call their toll-free # for verification. I called all day and got a busy signal. So I called the next day. Once a rep answered, he pointed out that the model ordered was an Imported model (Japanese). We referenced the hard to find notice on the webpage at the bottom of the Included Accessories tab. Then he asked if I would like the USA model for $40 more. Then he tried to convince me that the competitor was not offering a USA model for $202. I referenced the exact description on the webpage and I was correct. After telling me they would not price match the USA model with competitor, the rep asked "So what do you want me to do? Do you want me to cancel the order?" I found this experience inconvenient, rude, and unpleasant. No price protection honored. This is a shady operation. Overall Rating

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS. They give the "best" deal on the camera because they make you buy accessories. If you don't buy accessorries it seems like they make you cancel your order(gatherring from other reviews). I placed my online order for a standard Nikon D60 camera at $511. Great price. I got the email stating "must call to confirm order". I called and got a fast talking salesman who tried to sell me everything under the sun. I fell for the "package deal". I got 2 "extented life" batterries and a new charger because the one that came with it just wouldn't do. They didn't send me the charger. Their customer service line was all tied up so I couldn't get through. I looked at the site and the charger that came in the box is a fast charger. It came with the camera and i think they are trying to say that they upgraded it. BS. I am very angry. $511 camera + mem card $89 went to $600 then with the "package" went to $950. $350 package deal was garbage. cheap cheap cheap crapola Overall Rating

SCAM ARTIST...After ordering a digital camera online, they sent me an email stating that I needed to contact them before they could process my order. They supposedly just wanted to confirm my shipping address. The representative first tried to sell me a memory card, which I told him we had found cheaper elsewhere. Then, he tried to sell me rechargeable batteries, which I declined. He also said my item would ship in 5-7 business days, even though the website says usually ships in 2 days. I asked about upgrading shipping, which he stated would cost $19.99 for 3-5 days, which again I declined. Finally, before we hung up, he stated that we had ordered the "import" version of the camera, and asked if I wanted to change it to the U.S. version. I asked him what the difference was, and he stated that the import version had Chinese writing on the camera and the instruction book. He said that the U.S. version cost cost $59 more, ($369). Needless to say, I cancelled my order! Overall Rating
