I ordered $1450 worth of photography equipment (2 cameras and accessories). The salesman talked me into upgrading 1 camera to a magnesium body and adding a rapid charger and 2 long life batteries for each camera. When I received the order both rapid chargers and 2 batteries were missing. Also the magnesium body camera was plastic. I tried to call them for three days before I reached customer service because I would be placed on hold for 30 to 45 minutes every time. I complained about the order and was told they would ship the missing items but the camera (Rebel xti) only came in plastic. They said I misunderstood and only the internal parts were magnesium. I received the second order for the missing items and got 2 chargers but one was the wrong one. Again I tried to call but was placed on hold forever. I decided to cut my losses and keep what I had. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau. |

I ordered a Sony Alpha a200 on March 11. I was called the day that I placed the order by someone trying to sell me more accessories. I declined. I still have not received the item, and I am cancelling my order today. Their website still advertises the item as available and ships within 1-2 days. What a complete disappointment! Stay away from these guys!! |

Here is the letter I sent them. It speaks for its self: I am writing to express my sincere disappointment with my interaction with your company. I ordered the a sony miniDV camera a couple of days ago on your website. Today I received an email directing me to call for confirmation before the camera could be shipped. When I called, the technician confirmed my address somewhat unnecessarily and then proceeded to ask me if I wished to purchase any accessories. I could live with this unsolicited solicitation but what happened next was unacceptable. When I declined any accessories he asked me very condescendingly "do you even know what comes with the camera?" He then went on to inform me that the camera that I had ordered had only a 15 minute battery and was an "international" model. He encouraged me to order the US model with the longer lasting battery. This was clearly a bait and switch technique and he acted offended when I pointed this out. |

(Edited April 02nd by dongone) Ordered a Canon SD700 after calling the store by telephone, and having a "live" person assure me the camera would be the "English" version. Got an email the next day instructing me to call them to "verify" and "process" my order. I spent at least 90 minutes on the phone, being put on hold, trying to "verify" my order. It was the "bait-and-switch" crap! I was finally told that the camera I had ordered was the "Non-English" version, even though I had called the store BEFORE my order, and was told that the camera for sale was indeed the "ENGLISH" version. I immediately canceled the order. This store is an ongoing SCAM. |

I can't believe Broadway Photo is in business. I ordered a digital camera, and someone called to "confirm" shipping info. He then asked if I wanted to also get a rechargeable battery, which I didn't know at the time was supposed to come with the camera, but I said OK. He also added in a $70 charger without even telling me. He then tried to sell me overpriced memory without success. Then when he told me the total of what I'd "agreed" to, I noticed it jumped up from what we really agreed to so I told him I didn't want any extras, just the camera that I originally ordered. Then he said oh by the way, the camera I ordered was the international version - I'd have to pay $60 extra for the US version. I said to him I didn't order the intl' version, and there would be trouble for them if they sent me an item that I didn't order. He kept insisting it was the intl' version, until I had to cancel my order. I hope they don't charge my credit card - I wouldn't put anything past them. |

AKA Cameraaddict.com. I ordered a Sony TV from them. They insisted on a return phone call. On the phone call they asked about a number of add-ons. I refused. Then they offered to sell me the pedestal the TV sits on, for an extra $150. The picture on the unit has a pedestal. I canceled the order. |

Do yourself a favor and avoid this company, IT IS A SCAM. They offer a price comparable to other discounters, but once you call to "confirm your order" (they send you an email instructing you to do so), they take days to call back. Once they do, they will tell you that you must spend an extra (in our case) $70 for the model with "instructions in english", as their discount products are all the non-import models - oh, and they don't come up with the proper batteries (also an extra charge). They probably should not be in business. |

A Bait & Switch SCAM in the worst way. After placing an order, I received an e-mail to call "In order to verify your order." Instead, I was offered a battery pack for a high, but, when I balked, descending, price, followed by the offer of an "American" version of the camera rather than the foreign version I had (unknowingly) ordered, again for more money. I completely canceled the order. Unprofessional, unscrupulous, unreliable, dishonest, and greedy. I will NEVER deal with them again and would warn all potential buyers: caveat emptor – buyer beware! |

This was one of the most horrible shopping experiences I've ever had. These people were so dishonest about their product as well as the terrrible customer service. They have complete false advertising!!! I ordered a digital camera for a great price or so I thought, and someone called to confirm shipping info and then asked if I wanted to upgrade to a rechargeable battery as well as an english version of the camera. The website I ordered from gave specifications that it already came with that battery and there was no indication that it would be getting a japenese model camera, (meaning all the menus and writing on the camera would not be written english). I was so upset that I cancelled the order right then and there. They were totally scamming me and everyone else that has ordered their products. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!! |

Two scams they tried to run. First they attempted to add $450.00 for a base that comes with the 6010 FD Pioneer TV. Second, the reciever and DVD player they claimed were overseas models and I would recieve an up charge to get the american versions. |

I placed an order for a Sony digital camera and was sent an email to verify the order. The sales price was the lowest on the planet. It was too good to be true! Anyway, I called the number provided, but could not reach anyone for days. Finally, reached someone and they tried to sell me additional products. I said No and the sales rep said fine and told me that the order will be processed and shipped next day. Well, the next day, I got an email saying the order is backordered (3 days later) and was advised it would take 6-8 weeks. It's ok for orders to be backordered, but why was it not listed on the website that it was backordered, and why did the rep not tell me it was backordered. Bwayphoto.com is a scam website with very poor customer service and they are not to be trusted. Do not buy from these guys! |

I was scamed! Ordered a 250W Garmin GPS and the responding e-mail said to call them to complete the order. My original price was $260. They convinced my to "up-grade" to receive a unit with longer battery life, both ac & dc chargers, and screen protectors for $330. I did not receive the ac charger. I feel that I paid more for the same thing that I had originaly ordered. I will not do business with them in the future. They should be removed from Google for comparison shopping. |

This must be the worse experience I have ever had shopping in the internet. First, complete dishonest information about their products. They wanted to sell me an SLR camara that only have menus in Japanessee ! In other words, false advertisement. Second, their customer service told me after I asked a couple questions, like how come they were selling camaras meant to be sold in Japan in the USA, and I was told "I have not time for this, do you want to cancel the order?" Of course, it took them 6 days to get back with me which made us go on our trip without our camara. Just take this tip with you, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PEOPLE!!!!!!!! |

I wish I would have done some research on Broadway Photo before placing the order. I had a similar experience as that of many others. Got an email asking that I call. When I did, the guy first tried to sell me some accessories, which I declined. He then told me that the camcorder was a Japanese version and for $20 if could be upgraded to the US version. I asked him why it didn't say that on the web site. He told me it was in their policy. I looked on the site and didn't see anything about a policy. I've come across some other shady web outfits over the years. One thing they have in common is that they are all based in New York. It is companies like this that give New York a bad name. STAY AWAY FROM BROADWAY PHOTO!!! I HOPE THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS REAL SOON!! |

This operation is one of the worst band of "bait and switch" con artists you will ever come across. I searched the 'net for the best price and quality service when I was looking for an Olympus SP-560 UZ. Unfortunately, I got neither. They "neglect" to tell you that there is a 6% handling fee tacked onto every order. Then they have a slimy phone "salesman" call to get you to bump up the order. The price they listed for the Olympus was $308. The delivered price was over $440. If you value your piece of mind and your wallet, STAY AWAY from these guys. |

BROADWAY PHOTO IS A RIP OFF-Complete misrepresentation of their product and delivery time. I bought a camcorder and they called to try to sell me the "English" version rather then the "Japanese" version. They said I could not get the camcorder for 4 weeks if I didn't but the more expensive one. I canceled the order, but still am afraid the charge will be on my CC. I would not buy anything from these guys in the future and will report them to the NY BBB. |

My experience is the same as most of the others. The deal on the camera was great so I placed the order. I was then asked to call in to verify the order. It is here that the salesman tells you that the camera I ordered did not come with a battery and I would need to add one. He then proceeded to sell me on an additional battery, a memory card, a charger (which the camera already came with), case, and 1 year warranty (the camera comes with a 1 year warranty). He said if I went with the additional items I would recieve free shipping... The camera and extra items arrived in two days with an added cost of twice the original camera cost ($290)! I was also charged for shipping ($20.00). So I decided to price out the individual items and found that they added up to approximately $110, not the $300 they were charging me. I am in the process of returning the whole package after a $40 restock fee...DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BROADWAY! |

BUYER BEWARE. This company price gouges on accessories and has the worst customer service Ive encountered any where. I was looking for a Rebel XTI and found one through this company for $580. It appeared on the site as the Canon Rebel XTI KISS X. It said Canon Rebel XTI so I thought it was. What I received was the KISS X which is essentially the XTI but its the Japanese model. Felt unnecessarily misleading. They called to upsell me on some accessories which I ordered. When I received the merchandise, the invoice was for $1100.00! $520.00 more then the camera I originally ordered. They overprice they're accessories by 3 to 5 times! I know this because I looked up the items from other vendors and they charged FAR less. (ie. 512 MB Flash Card sold for $130.00 but retail elsewhere commonly for $30.00) When I tried to return EVERYTHING, they would only do so at a 15% restocking fee ($180.00). They would not let me speak to a manager claiming they would say the same thing. |

Terrible customer service. I ordered a camera and I requested 2 day shipping as the guy on the phone told me I would then have it for sure on a certain date I needed it. Next day I get an email asking me to call this number to verify the order. I call the number at least 5 times and I keep getting transfered to a voice mail so I leave a message. Almost a week later I still haven't received my item. Every time I call customer support I get transfered to different people that don't help me and make me wait for at least 10 min each. Finally, on my 3dr attempt, I can finally talk to someone telling me that they will ship it today. TOO LATE!!!! I have never been so annoyed by a crappy customer service on my life. Don't buy here! |

I am having a horrible experience with Broadway Photo. Their advertising is deceptive. Their cheap prices turn out to be import cameras with no valid US warranty. Their add does not say this. They scam you by selling you an extra battery, saying the camera comes wth a 30 min battery. They offered to sell me a Nikon D40 for $499 with overnight shiping included. They charged my card for the shipping. They would not allow me to cancel the order saying it was too late the order was in the warehouse. Totatal scam and lies!! Should not be allowed to stay in Business. |

Horrible customer service, bait and switch operation, liars, scam artists...I could go on and on. I urge everyone to stay far away from Broadway Photo. They reel you in with low prices, however when they call you to "verify your shipping address" (what a joke!) that is when they try to sell you WAY OVERPRICED accessories. They tell you that your product will not work without them. Lies! Don't fall for it! If you refuse they either hang up on you or tell you that the item is no longer in stock. If you agree, you get scammed. Stick with a reputable store like B&H. Or really you can go anywhere else. It would be impossible for anyone to be as bad as Broadway. With the number of complaints they have received, I can't imagine how they are still in business. If there is a class action lawsuit count me in. |

CAMERA BATTERY SCAM. When I ordered my Samsung NV11 digital camera I was told by the c/s person that the camera only came with a short life battery and that many who have purchased this camera also order the additional long life battery. He stated that it would only cost $44.99 for the additional battery which normally costs $90 if I buy it now. He stated that it would be a good idea to have a second battery as it is a custom battery. When the package arrived it only contained the long life battery and the invoice stated "extended battery upgrade" and the price was increased by $49.99 not $44.99. A call to customer service resulted in them refusing to send me the additional battery but agreeing to refund the $5...This add'l battery switch for a upgraded battery is a flat out SCAM and it is so obvious that the rep, before I even explained my problem knew why I was calling as I didn't get my extra battery. DON'T BE FOOLED...the 2nd battery pitch is a SCAM you will not receive it. |
