When I tried to order the camera I wanted via the website, the website refused to recognize username and password I had just established. When I phoned, the salesman lied twice, first by telling me that the battery that came with this camera would last only 20 minutes, then by telling me that the 1-year manufacturers warranty applied only to parts, not to labor. He tried to sell me an extra battery, which I refused, but I did accept an extended warranty When I added up the prices he had quoted me for camera, shipping, 3-year extended warranty, camera case, I came to asum of $291. With 8.25% sales tax the total was $314.71 When I checked my Visa account, I found a charge of $329.11. This morning I called customer service and tried to get status and tracking number. The web page refused to recognize the order number I had been given on the phone and by email. |

I have never been told so many false stories in my life. I purchased a Hitachi Video Camera from Luke at Broadway, he told that I would need to buy an extra battery for $99.00 because it's a new camera and any other Hitachi battery would not fit. That was the first lie. The second was when I tried to return it 3 days later , Leon in customer service wanted to deduct 50% restocking fee, then Leon told me I got the US version of the camera and it was more money than advertised at $371.00. I got the US version at $401.00 he said. I should have read all the complaints that are posted about them on the internet first. I would highly suggest that if you see there name turn and run as fast as you can. I have also filed with the New York Better Business Bureau. I would hope some lawyer would grab this and do a class action law suit against Broadway for deceptive practices. |

Placed an order for the Canon 700 IS camera from their site. I had to call and "Confirm" the order. I told them I did not want any other accessories, and then I was told the camera was "GrayMarket" and they asked if I wanted to purchase the extended warranty. Wow. Seriously guys, that is so shady. I was told the website had it clearly saying that the item was gray market. I went there, and it said nothing about gray market. HORRIBLE COMPANY ETHICS. STAY AWAY. |

Go somewhere else, but if you do decide the price is too good to pass by be careful. They require you to call to confirm your order and then attempt to sell you other things. Pay attention when your talking with them. Understand if they ask you if you want the US version, it may cost you much more. In my case 30% more. Before you get off the phone with them make sure you get them to repeat to you the price your credit card will be charged. |

These guys asked me to call up to verify the order which i did. The next day they called up asking me to send a scan of my credit card and drivers license. I found that funny so i searched for reviews on the store and found out from u guys that these are con artists. I should have reviewed them before placing the order. They havent shipped the camera (Canon S3 IS)so i hope they dont charge me,They did pressurise me to buy an overpriced SD card and rechargeable batteries. |

The cheapest price isn't always the best deal! Broadway Photo is nothing short of terrible customer service! Supposedly, I should have received an email asking me to call in and verify my shipping address. Well...that email never came. It's been 25 days and still no camera. So much for capturing my trip to San Fran on film! When I called in, not only would they not overnight it to me at their cost, of course, but they made excuses for what happened, and kept trying to pressure me into purchasing additional equipment. If you haven't already figured it out, I'd rather spend more money with a company that had timely service and good customer satisfaction concerns than one who only cares about the next sale. I won't spend another dime here! All this, and they still don't get the picture! |

Total fraud. I ordered a Canon camcorder. I then received an email asking me to call to "confirm" the order. After giving my address over the phone (totally unnecessary) to "customer service," the reprsentative tried to sell me another battery. When I said I wasn't interested, he persisted. When I said stop he asked me why I was being rude. He then asked me if I wanted a "U.S. Warantee" and claimed that because the camera was imported it did not have a "U.S. Warantee" which I would have to pay for. At this point I cancelled the order. |

I just got a call from bwayphoto.com telling me that the camera was NOT American made but for another $30 they will give me the American made model. I told him to cancel my order, I did not like this scam and he said I would have to pay a 5% restocking fee. I told him that first off if he read my order, I wrote in the notes section that if it is not American made model, not to bother processing this AND since I already talked to someone this morning at precisely 0900 and that it was confirmed it was an American made camera I considered them to be scamming me. He then said I needed to to to the website and read that page, which I did, then he told me to click on the tab button of the included items. That is where it read it is not an American camera. I told him I wanted to speak to a manager he said there was not one there but he would cancel my order and not charge me 5%. I then called back and talked to a manager and made sure he did cancle the order and did NOT charge me. |

I ordered a Canon SD40. Their price was surprisingly low. They e-mailed me to call and "verify" the order. They tried to upsell me on an extra battery, telling me the supplied battery only lasts 20 minutes! When I questioned them on whether this was the standard Canon UB-4L battery, they assured me it was. I got suspicious and went back to their website and noticed that the camera was an "import model". I called back and they impatiently assured me this camera was made for the U.S. market (a lie). When I received the camera today, it was a Japanese model, the IXYDL4. The package was not sealed, and the regular Canon internal packaging was all missing. There was no warranty card, and there was no paperwork except for a photocopied user manual. The battery charger was missing. I'm going to call them about the battery charger, but based on all the reviews I am now reading about Broadway Camera, I hold little hope that I'll ever see one. |

Do not buy from this vendor. They get there products overseas (camera I ordered from Japan), repackage and manufacturer warranty is not valid for this. The camera's serial number did not match the serial number on the box! The manual was a photocopy! Also be aware, that if you want to return, there website claims 5% restocking fee, but in fact it is 15%. This is ridiculous. I read a review for them on another website and reviews were great. Besides that they make you call to confirm the order and try to sell you more stuff - playing bait and switch. |

I would think the major credit card companies would cut them off. Anyway I started trying to cancel my order after researching the company (AFTER placing the order unfortunately). As soon as you try to cancel no matter which department you get to they transfer you to a voice mail where noone ever returns the call. I finally stated if I got transferred to oblivion again my next call was to Visa complaints with a full log of my experience. That actually worked and the rep cancelled my order. |

Also known as A&M Photo World (www.amphotoworld.com), this company uses add-on sales tactics. After your order, you will be asked to call on your purchase. Here, you will be forced to buy "accessories" or they will refuse to sell you the original item that you ordered. Don't waste your time dealing with this operation... |

Check the New York Better Business Bureau under Broadway Photo the firm does business under A&M Photo World, Digital Liquidators LLC, Preferred Photo, Prestige Camera and Regal Camera. You can also do a search on the web you will find review sites that have detected fraudulent "Very Satisfied" reviews for this merchant. Some sites have stopped taking reviews of the store because of these fraudulent reviews. This is the worst store you could possibly deal with. Do not do business with them. |

Buyer Beware! Ordered a FUJI F460 camera from them as they had a really good deal (and were rated well elsewhere - my mistake from straying form pricegrabber). Was asked to call them, via e-mail, to confirm the order. Salesman talked me into a spare battery for it and "claimed" (falsely) that it was a super duper binford battery and WAY better then the one that comes with the camera. Turns out the specs are the same as include and I they charged 50% more then it's worth. |

I ordered a Cannon S80 camera from Broadway Photo. The camera arrived within a few day as the promised. I received a small photocopy of one of the user manuals. When I inquired about about the manuals, I was told the cameras were imported from a foregin country and the manuals were not in English. The company offered a free tripod, lens cleaning kit and screen protector that supposedly worth $89.97. If this package is worth $8.99 it would be over priced. I will not purchase from them again. |

I was assured that the accessories I bought could be returned for 21 days, so there was no reason not to try them out to see if I liked them. They were all cheap clone products. When I called to get an RMA the guy offered me $100 to keep the stuff, when I hesitated he hung up on me. When I called back, another guy said he would fax me an RMA form, he never did. The cost of returning stuff is 15% if ever shipped. Their policy of 5% restocking is if never shipped. Totally unethical company. |

Broadway Photo is an openly fraudulent operation. Stay away from them at all costs. I recently purchased a Fuji Finepix S3 from them, along with a Nikkor 28-105 lens. They lied about them being USA products, and about being under warranty. They were gray market products, and the manufacturers will not honor their warranty on gray market products. Do *NOT* ever do business with this company. |
