thelastslayer - (November 27, 2007) Lego Mindstorms's NXT Model 8527 Robot kid is a great toy for the young and old at heart. The learning curve is a little high, so I wouldn't recommend giving it to anyone under the age of ten, but past that point I think anyone could benefit from it. You can choose to build robots using the 577 pieces from pre-existing templates (including but not limited to a standing, walking robot, a scorpion, a cuckoo clock, and a soundbot) or make your own robot then program it accordingly! It doesn't take long to build a robot, fifteen to twenty minutes if you are constructing a templated one. This includes the time it takes to program it - speaking of which, you can use Windows XP or Vista or Mac OS X

rtsong1 - (July 01, 2007) Mindstorms NXT is a great kit, and I recommend it to any robotics fan. It is easy to pick up, and hard to put down. I do wish they could make some improvements though: more memory in the NXT brick, clearer instructions and more affordability.

yakkotank - (07/09/2009) The LEGO Troll Battle Wheel is a nice building set, great toy, but somewhat less worthwhile as a display piece. The wheel itself is a monotonous build and has a handle for pushing it over knights and catapults and the like. However, this same handle makes the wheel look a bit silly (and a bit too big for display). Once again, the minifigures are outstanding. All in all, this is a fine set.

yakkotank - (07/09/2009) The LEGO King's Castle Siege is another example of a fine set in the Castle subline. Featuring a large and impressive castle along with plenty of minifigures, this set is packed with features and interesting pieces. On the minus side, you'll need $100 to buy it and plenty of space to display it. The castle is a modular build and can be rearranged to suit your needs, but it lacks nice large green baseplates for some reason. Overall, recommended if you can get it for a good price and if you're a castle fan.
yakkotank - (07/09/2009) The LEGO Castle Tower Raid is a quality set that includes several nifty elements, including a building, a vehicle, and several minifigures. The tower itself is well done, with a nice little prison and guard post. The siege tower has a nifty action feature of smashing a wall and looks suitably intimidating.
