FireWire iLink Cable

Posted Oct 14, 2006 - A 6 ft length would be a nice improvement over 4 ft. It will handle our recoding needs well linking our Sony Digital 8 handicam with our Sony DVD recorder.

Posted Apr 26, 2006 - I bought this for my Sony HDR-HC3 camcorder. This cable is necessary to download video from my camcorder to my computer. Just make sure you have a 4 pin FireWire socket on your computer to be able to use this connector.

Be careful when connecting camcorder to computer

Posted Jul 25, 2007 - A word of caution to those who own a Sony HDR-HC3 (or any other Sony camera using an IEEE 1394 connector). The connector on the camera side breaks EASILY, and it costs over $250.00 to get it repaired from Sony. When this happens your computer won't be able to recognize the camcorder. A lot of people have had this problem, and now I do too!

Posted Jun 28, 2004 - i.LINK™ DV In/Out Interface (IEEE-1394) provides a high-speed, bi-directional digital link between camcorders, a camcorder and editing deck, or a camcorder and computer with i.LINK capability. So you can transfer data digitally, then edit it multiple times with virtually no deterioration of picture or sound quality. I baught it mainly for my sony camcorder. I am using it and I found it exacly matching it's description and it upto my expectations.

Posted May 8, 2005 - very compatible with my vaio desktop. i have owned my computer for nearly three years without a problem. i own a shoddy panasonic camcorder. i would suggest buying sony camcorders.

Posted Feb 20, 2008 - This is an excellent cable, and an excellent product. I reccomend paying a little more for genuine Sony equiptment. Except for the length, this is a great addition to my Sony electronics collection.

Very bad cable.

Posted Dec 11, 2005 - The cables Shentech sent me, wrapped in very thin plastic bags, no label, no UPC number. Neither of them works, I had to buy a Sony VMC-IL4415 from BestBuy which works perfectly.

Posted Oct 22, 2006 - I bought this to connect my Canon ZR45MC MiniDV camcorder to my laptop. I got a good deal on it. It works great and is just the perfect length. I have had no problems with it whatsoever.
