Sony DCR DVD105

Strengths: compact size, touch screen LCD, good video and sound quality

This camcorder writes directly to a DVD/RW media which can be played directly on a PC or DVD player. This simplies the process of copying from digital tape to DVD media. You can easily view recorded movie segments via the touch screen without having to rewind as with digital tapes. The touch screen makes it easy to access camera options.

Although the camera itself is small and compact, it's format is nearly impossible to edit. It's not pc friendly. I'm not terribly impressed with the Sony service personnel either. They made their sale and that's that. I had to research all of the ins and outs on the net and still not figured out hot to interface with the pc to send videos e-mails. Don't buy this product unless you require and like boxes of mini DVDs to fiddle with. Transferring to analog is real easy but that's just going backwards as far as technology goes. Go for the HDD video cameras... They are fab!
