GREAT CAMCORDER FOR THE MONEY
Lots of pixels for the money. Microphone jack. Decent low light resolution
Viewfinder designed to use with right eye (nose runs into record button if left eye is used). Twin LED lights not much good. Battery compartment holds only one small battery...may need to buy spare.
Posted Mar 20, 2006 - I wanted a camcorder that was a few steps above entry level, but I didn't care about a lot of manual controls that I never used on may digital camera (Lumicon FZ5). So far I have used the camcorder twice inside, and three times outside (including the beach). Couldn't be happier. I have also burned a DVD on my computer of the videos I have made (you need a firewire port and a DVD burner on your computer to do this. Also a 4x6 pin firewire cord. I had planned on this before I bought the camera). Otherwise you will just have to plug the supplied AV cord from the camera into the TV. I didn't find the weaknesses mentioned above to be a real problem, although I may buy a spare battery later. So far this camera has been everything I had hoped. Cost me $309 plus shipping. Why buy a ZR700 or PV-GS39 with nearly half the pixels for about the same money?
