Great Buy for the money
Easy to Use. Good Picture. Like the DVD format. Like widescreen recording format. Sleep mode is great.
SD card is only for still pictures, low light recording is not very good. No fade in or out for DVD-R mode. Still Photos are not as good as a Digital Camera.
Posted Feb 22, 2008 - 30x optical/1500x digital zoom is plenty due to the fact it is hard to hold still at higher magnification levels. In DVD-R mode, you can only review the last scene recorded, not the entire disc. Can rotate the screen 180 degrees and watch yourself being filmed. Like the fact that you can take menus off the screen if you so desire. Provided battery does not last long enough for a high school sporting event but fine for shorter clips. Must plug in to a wall outlet to finalize. Overall I say a great buy for the price. I had a Handycam 8mm before and like this much better (except for the fade in/out feature only being able to be used in editing mode).
