Love this camcorder - GZ-MG130U
Hard Drive (30GB too, not just 20GB - means more space), NO MORE TAPES (Thank you)!!!!!
Limited capabilities (see below), but not nearly enough to change how I feel about this product--really am HAPPY with it.
Posted Mar 22, 2007 - Limited capabilities such as, and by the way, to me these are just very minor compared to the great advantages of this video recorder: 1)No (tape or video) counter during playback--closest thing is actual time stamp on-screen. I'm used to seeing during playback how much time I took in recording my videos 2)No memory function during playback so when you play your recorded footages you always have to start from the beginning of that particular footage taken; but this is countered by (if I'm not mistaken) 4x speeds of rewind and fast forward so it's fairly easy to get back to where you left off 3)No real editing features available on the recorder itself. I was expecting that there would at least be a "cut" and possibly "paste" feature to at least trim the footages and retain only what I really need; there is, however, software for this which has to be installed on your PC, though I haven't really had time to get too familiar with it. I'm not the heavy video editing type so I'm not real fussy about this 4)Low light image visibility is not real good, but acceptable (kind of obvious though because low light, so get more light or record in places with more light). Overall, I really DO LOVE this camcorder. I am so happy I bought this. Price was much lower than I would have expected for this new kind of technology for camcorders too (less than $500, but I actually got this as a gift so even better). I had bought for my first camcorder a Sony mini-DV that cost much more than a thousand ('nuff said, huh?)
