4 Star Review Great for the price

Strengths:

can shoot in 16 x 9 mode, sound quality, zoom very good 34x, easy to learn, easy to use

Weaknesses:

camcorder did not come with firewire cable, hard to attach battery after recharging

Posted Nov 8, 2007 - I purchased this for my nephew's birthday (he's a teenager). So my review is actually his review. The quality is okay (guess you cannot expect too much from a camcorder that sells for under $200). The sound quality is quite good and you can shoot in 16 x 9 mode. The zoom (34X) is also quite good. The camcorder is easy to learn and easy to use. The product does not come with a firewire cable - must be purchased separately. Lastly, it's a little difficult to attach the battery after recharging. Overall, a good product for the price.

4 Star Review High Resolution Camcorder

Strengths:

Good resolution

Weaknesses:

Blurry LCD screen

Posted Jul 19, 2007 - I like the camcorder with campact size and light weight. The price is good for the camcorder with all basic functions. The video quality is good. But the LCD screen seems blurry to me. I don't like the battery system for the camcorder. There is no good indication when the battery is charged full and it requires a seperate battery to run the timer.

3 Star Review Nice camcorder...would like USB support

Strengths:

Excellent videos

Weaknesses:

No USB support

Posted Jul 14, 2007 - This camcorder has good battery life, if light, and easy to use. The major drawback is that lack of USB support. I was not able to get this to connect to my PC, as my PC does not have firewire, or the ability to support a PCMCIA firewire card. I tried a firewire to USB converter cable, and it did not work :(

2 Star Review Overall Good Camera; a few bugs

Strengths:

Lightweight, many settings to change the way you tape, turnable LCD screen, nice volume control

Weaknesses:

Bad battery life, no USB cables to connect to PC, sometimes goes blurry randomly

Posted 1 year ago - I got mine over one year ago, and it was working pretty good, until I lost my dads seperate usb cable and there was no way to connect it to my PC,and I could'nt put any of my tapes onto it. Also, it has bad sound quality. I recorded myself playing a song on the guitar, and it would randomly sound bad. Futhermore, when I did have my USB cable, i would upload video, and there would be short notacable skips that would interupt audio. For instance, if i said "My name is Alex" to the camera, and uploaded that, it would sound like "My name is...(1/2 second pause)Alex" or somthing along those lines. Though I am not an expert on the camera, mine would sometimes go blurry, and i would have to reset it numerous times to get the screen to be unblurry. ALSO, the USB cable is hard to connect when you plug it in to you camera. So overall, 2 stars. I would rather pay more for a better camera than use this one.

4 Star Review Fun and easy little camcorder for anyone to use!

Strengths:

Compact, good picture, strong optical zoom, built-in light, very light-weight and decent battery life.

Weaknesses:

No USB - firewire only, auto focus has some trouble in dark scenes.

The only major weaknesses are things that can be expected from most lower-cost camcorders. Overall a great buy if you don't expect more than what you pay for!

Strengths:

Lightweight, good LCD, good zoom, good recording.

Weaknesses:

Tape ejects from the bottom of the unit, Plastic feeling

Posted Feb 27, 2008 - The camcorder is functionally very good in recording and playback. The picture is recorded very well even in room light. The LCD is good sized and sharp. The camcorder fits in very well in the hand and is easy to use. It is not a professional level camcorder. It has a plastic feel to it. Generally easy to use, good starter level camcorder.

Strengths:

Good size and optical zoom. Easy to use. Great price.

Weaknesses:

No USB interface or memory card slot.

Posted Dec 27, 2007 - For a fun camera that's decent quality and not pricy this is the one. Good-looking camera as well. You can buy a few of these for the price of some of the other camcorders.
