Poor video quality, not satisfied

Strengths:

Lightweight, records to mini DVDs or memory card, easy menu

Weaknesses:

Very poor picture, Bad color, does not record well in low light, auto focus does not work well

Posted Dec 17, 2007 - This camera is not worth the money. I have tried TWO different units and both of them are very poor performance. The picture quality is very low grade. It feels like I'm watching a home movie from the 1990s when camcorders were first out. In fact, I would prefer a camcorder like that to this one. I have a college degree in videography, so I know it is not the operator of the unit. Do not buy this camera. It is not worth the money. Thumbs up to JR.com...they replaced the first unit even after the 30 day warranty because Samsung's customer service is HORRIBLE. And no hassle return on the 2nd.

Great Product Samsung!!

Strengths:

small, lightweight, great picture & focus

Posted Jan 4, 2008 - I must say I've been very pleased with this camcorder. This is the fourth camcorder we have purchased over the years & it's by far the best! We got a great deal on it...We paid $198 the day after thanksgiving, but I've seen them as high as $300. The picture quality is excellent & it does the job for the normal person who just wants a camcorder for special events, etc. You can't beat it! My husband is a photographer & I bought this for myself (as he will only buy Canon productus) but he's impressed with this little samsung camcorder as well!

Stay Away

Strengths:

Able to place disc in dvd player after recording (after fussing around w/ multiple types of media!)

Weaknesses:

You pick, this is probably one of the worst buys I have ever made. I bought right before a family trip to disney, lost two days, because of read/write errors.

Posted Mar 19, 2008 - Tried to get some of the video off the dvd's w' errors w/ no luck. Samsung has horrible cust. service, told me just to try a memorex dvd's. Basically - Bad camcorder, not worth the price, or trouble.
