Discussion of Pioneer AVIC-F500BT In-Dash 5.8" Navigation System
Posted 5 months ago - Great, it comes with maps. Who's maps (it does matter) Maps of what? US? US & Canada? Europe? Can you buy those it does not have? The number of details missing in the specifications are mind boggling. Text to Speech but Town names only, not streets - that's weird.

Discussion of Pioneer AVIC-N2 DVD/GPS Navigation System/6.5" LCD In-dash Navigation Receivers
Posted May 5, 2007 - DON'T WASTE ANY MONEY ON THIS UNIT. YOU WILL BE SO DISAPPOINTED IN THE LACK OF FUNCTIONS IN NAVIGATION. I HAVE HAD THE UNIT FOR 15 MONTHS NOW. THE UNIT HAS NOT WORKED IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS DUE TO FACT OF THE SYSTEM DISKS IS WORE OUT AND I CANT SEE PAYING $250.00 FOR THE UPGRADE DISKS. PIONEER WONT GIVE AN INCH REGARDING THIS PROBLEM AS OF PRESENT. I CANNOT EMPHASIZE HOW MANY PROBLEMS THE UNIT HAS.THE LACK OF FUNCTIONALITY THE UNIT HAS IN MOST AREAS OF EVEN SIMPLE NAVIGATION IS COMPLETELY ABSURD. IF YOU ARE WILLING TO SPEND THIS AMOUNT OF MONEY, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SHOP AROUND. MAKE SURE THAT THE SYSTEM IS OF THE DOUBLE DIN TYPE, (TWO DISK PORTS), OR HAS ITS OWN HARD DRIVE TO STORE THE MAPPING DATA FOR THE GPS AREAS. IF NOT YOU WILL BE SO TIRED OF INSERTING THE MAP DISK IN A SHORT TIME YOU WILL KNOW WHY I AM TAKING THE TIME TO SAVE YOU THE STRESS BY WRITING THIS. YOU WILL WANT THE VOICE COMMAND ABILITY, BLUETOOTH INTERFACE ON ANY UNIT YOU DECIDE TO GO WITH. MOST OTHER SYSTEMS HAVE THESE OPTIONS INCLUDED. HOPE THIS SAVES SOMEONE FROM MAKING A POOR CHOICE IN SHOPPING. THANKS.

Discussion of Pyle PLD53MUT
Posted Oct 26, 2006 - i've been googling all over and can't find any reviews on the PLD53MU or PLD53MUT! surely someone out there has tested one. it's got good tech specs, but if there's one thing i've learned, usability and specs don't always correlate. well if anyone out there has any inside info -- either you own one or have even seen one at a store or a friends house... please fill us in on what you know! --luke

Discussion of Pioneer AVIC-D2 DVD Nav/6.5" Screen/AM/FM/CD Player
Posted Sep 17, 2006 - This might be a dumb question but I'm new to the whole navigation and screens in general. But when using this navigation does voice through the speakers tell you which turns to take and which direction to go?
