If you're on a budget, but still want speakers with an attitude, go with Kicker's DS Series coaxials. The Curvilinear Injection-Molded Polypropylene (CIMP) woofers of the 2-way DS60 6-1/2" speakers combine power and control as they piston out the bass. The woofers are mounted in Enhanced BAM (Basket and Motor) assemblies â€” the low-profile high-strength steel baskets provide a firm foundation for the speaker motor. Accurate imaging and smooth high-frequency response are a given, thanks to Kicker's PEN semi-dome tweeters. What's PEN? Try "biaxially-oriented polypropylene naphthalate film." Don't worry about explaining it â€” just turn up the music and let your friends admire how good your system sounds. The DS60s will also fit in oversized 6-3/4" speaker openings. minimize

Strengths:

High bass,Clear highs and clear sound

Weaknesses:

3 weeks insatlled,None so far

Posted Jan 22, 2007 - I installed these on my '99 S10 and the whole truck shakes now.Bass is excellent and sound is clear,I'm VERY pleased.Audio tech guy said to me "Well I guess you don't need subs anymore".I plan on taking out my crappy Pioneer speakers in my Trans Am and install kicker speakers and subs. A+++++++++++++++
