5 Star Review Hands down THE BEST case I've ever owned!!!

Strengths:

Looks cool, incredible cooling, solidly built, 200mm fan!

Weaknesses:

dust magnet, a bit expensive, DVI flaw, 200mm fan hard to find

Posted Mar 5, 2007 - Wow! This case is awesome! Two 120mm fans in the front blowing right on the two harddrive cages, one 120mm fan in rear and one HUGE 200mm fan up top to exhaust heat, and an optional 120mm fan on the side and on the top HDD cage for extra air movement. Conveniently placed buttons and ports on top. Handy slot for storage. Only thing is I can't put external drives on top of my PC anymore b/c I would block the 200mm fan. Many people who have seen my case in my room have complimented it. This case will get dirty quick, due to having no filters. I take it into the garage every 2-3 weeks and blow it out with my air compressor to avoid dust buildup, so no problems for me there. The old revision of this case has a flaw in which a DVI connector will not be able to connect if your video card sits in the first open slot in the back, which mine doesn't. Antec has quickly remedied this issue, I think, and recalled the old versions off store shelves. Owners of old revisions have also reported finding resolution by calling Antec. I have not called them, so I can't say how they would take care of you. Look for rev 1.01 under the UPC on the box, that should be the new revision. As always, the case went on sale the week after I bought it, PLUS there was a rebate...DOH!!! I bought it online, so the return hassle was not worth it. I wanted to wait for the price to drop at first, but a case like this is hard to resist. I also worry how I would replace the 200mm fan if it ever goes out. Antec sells it (it's called Big Boy 200) for $25 plus $9 shipping...a bit expensive, I think. But overall, I have no regrets getting this case. It is easily the best case I've owned. My other case is an Antec Super LanBoy, so I'm very happy with Antec products so far. So buy this case, it goes on sale occasionally for $60-$80 after mail-in rebate.

4 Star Review Antec Nine Hundred Case

Strengths:

Case is nice and sturdy. It comes with 2 front 120mm, 1 rear 120mm, and 1 200mm fan on the top. All the fans comes with 3 speed control switch. This help cool my temp down by 5-10C.

Weaknesses:

The power supply is all the way at the bottom. Make sure your power supply wires are long enough to plug everything in. It is somewhat loud if you put your fans on high.

Posted Mar 3, 2007 - Antec make great cases and power supplies. I never had any problems with any of their products. If you looking for cooling, I would recommend the nine hundred. If you care about silent pc, I would recommend the P180.

5 Star Review Great Personal PC Case

Strengths:

Great airflow though case; very quiet, speed controllable fans; Removable 3.5" drive bays; and power/reset button and port(USB/1394)location.

Weaknesses:

The blue LEDs are a bit bright. Floppy Drive adapter.

Posted Jul 23, 2007 - I would have to say that when I bought this case I was very excited about it because of the great reviews it had and that my current system is a heat nightmare (55C sys. temp. w/ old case's side cover on). But as an engineer in the aerospace industry, I was skeptical about it's design for air flow. I thought the power supply would be starved for air and have heat dissipation issues. I was absolutely shocked, after 1 month of use, this case keeps my system about 15C cooler than the case it was in before, and there are still 2 locations for extra fans not being used and the power supply shows no overheating issues at all! The fans are whisper quiet and there is a breeze that comes out of the 200mm top fan! I had no issues with graphics connections as mentioned in other reviews. The 5.25" floppy drive adapter was mildly difficult to install, but worked well enough. The removable drive bays for 3.5" drives made hard drive installation quick and painless. I have been building computers for 6-7 years now and I would say for a personal PC case, this one would rank up there with some of the Lian Li cases as far as aesthetic appeal and cooling efficiency. Wiring is not difficult, but take a little more planning than normal to get all the cables tidy due to the unorthodox power supply location.

5 Star Review Best Case Yet!

Strengths:

QUIET (this is important to me), TEMPERTURE (cpu runs 25C normal, 32C gaming i am from OCed 3 to 3.66ghz), DESIGN (other than looking slick, it's easy to setup)

Weaknesses:

NONE per say... just that with the top tray, as useful as it SHOULD be, it just gets cluttered with change, cd's, devices, etc... my own fault though

Posted Apr 27, 2007 - I have been trying out cases for the last 2 years to find one i like. I first had the Aspire X-Cruiser which was nice, but ran hot. Then i had some no name case i got for free, which actually performed better since it was larger. Then i got the Nine Hundred... WOW. I have been looking to get a water cooled case, but couldn't afford it. I found a deal on the Nine Hundred and saw it was known for it's cooling. The 200mm fan is great, the drive fans and everything else work amazingly. Sound was an issue for me, but every fan is running on Medium and it's quieter than most cases I've seen. I would recommend this to anyone who needs cooling, or just wants a really nice case!

4 Star Review Antec 900 Review

Strengths:

1. Top control buttons and ports. 2. Removable drive cages. 3. Ventilation and cooling. 4. Aesthetic.

Weaknesses:

1. Needs a magnetic screwdriver (otherwise extremely difficult to install drives) 2. The length of the cords from the power/reset button and USB/firewire port on the case is short.

Posted Mar 1, 2007 - Overall a good buy with a nice professional look and sturdy built. However, please note that you do need a magnetic screwdriver if you are planning to buy this case.

5 Star Review best case ever

Strengths:

super quiet, great cooling, and looks awesome

Weaknesses:

it can get a little tight inside, especially if you have 4 hard drives installed and all the ports filled. but hey, its a midtower.

5 Star Review Antec 900

Strengths:

EZ setup

Weaknesses:

Pervert advertising blerb. "Now you can own any noob ever spawned" Are they selling to Jeffery Dahmer?

Posted May 6, 2007 - Great cooling. Cool Startrek Borg spaceship presence. I am assimilated. I don't really like that the power supply is on the bottom. I have a Corsair HX520 that normally sucks air from the bottom. It must be mounted upside down.

5 Star Review Best case for the money

Strengths:

Massive cooling. Very quiet when fans are at low speed (which is all the time).

Weaknesses:

No power supply bundled with the case. The version 1.0 has issues with DVI connectors. Antec will send you the correct part free of charge.

Posted Feb 12, 2007 - This is a great case. It has some of the best cooling that I gave seen and is surprisingly quiet. I love the look and feel of the case. It is very sturdy and has no issues that would make me not want this case.

5 Star Review Great Case!

Strengths:

3x120mm Fans, 1x massive 200mm fan, bottom mounted PSU for improved cooling and installation, mesh front for better airflow, no dust filters for better airflow, great styling

Weaknesses:

Posted Jan 8, 2007 - This is a great case. Note to all worried about their graphics card not fitting properly: Antec have noted this problem and are manufacturing a revised version. If you buy one, it will most likely have no problems. If you do, contact Antec to get your case replaced with a revised one.

5 Star Review Nice Case

Strengths:

This thing moves lots of air, looks nice and my Asus P5B fits like a charm. My 8800 GTS fits perfect and theres more than enough room to upgrade to the larger 8800GTX. Sweet!

Weaknesses:

Make sure your PS can support all the extra requirements from these fans. 3 5.25 bays and 1 3.5 adaptor is included. Fans are loud on highest setting but it moves more than enough air on low or med

Posted Dec 18, 2006 - Dont believe all the complaints on these cases. Odd sized motherboards may cause issues but that could happen with any case. Antec produces very nice cases and this is a good example.

1 Star Review Antec NINEHUNDRED Gamer Case

Strengths:

nice looking and Lots of fans

Weaknesses:

everythings else, Poor fit. poor design. lack of external drive bays.

Posted Nov 26, 2006 - Recently a young man with few brains and lots of cash asked me to construct the ultimate gamer computer. I got together the latest and fastest extreme core2 intel chip with an asus striker extream MB. along with 4 gigs of the best Patriot ram and two EVGA 7950 gs video cards. Along with a liquid cooled system and two seagate 10,000 rpm hard drives. So far so good. Understanding that cases are a personal choice I send this young man in to get his case. he comes back with this POS... The engineer who dreamed this nightmare up didn't pass third grade. No thought for anything except FANS. No led for power. No 3.5 external bays. Only three 5" bays for fan control, dvd cd/rom ect. ect. ect.. the fit of everything was at best poor and the MB didnt fit correctly... needless to say I sent him back with this POS in tow to exchange it for a Zalman Fatal1ty case. If you are going to spend $1000 for the processor $300 for the MB $650each for the hard drives and $500 plus for the ram and another $350 each for the vid cards why go cheap on the case??? I found the Case to have good cooling but at the expence of everything else. Today most serious gamers are liquid cooling these hot running chips anyway... GET THE ZALMAN... I expected a lot better case for $120

2 Star Review nice idea for a cooling case bad execution on tolerances

Strengths:

3x120mm fans, 1 200mm fan, nice looking case solid construction

Weaknesses:

first slot for graphics card did not fit could not attact DVI cable to card with modification. This is with an ASUS A8N-SLI motherboard with 2 EVGA 7800GTX graphics card.

Posted Oct 30, 2006 - Great case and the temps are lower, but the poor execution of tolerances that failed to take into account a popular motherboard disappoints me. Also the case does not have a power LED and some motherboards (like mine) require one in order to power up. I am aware I could use the DVI outputs on the second card but on my motherboard the second card doesn't power up until windows is loaded (so no DOS bootup screens), unless I use the first slot card.

5 Star Review Built Like a Rock!

Strengths:

Huge amount of airflow with 4 120mm fans and one 220mm(stays room temp). Adjustable speeds are a plus. The interior is huge for a mid tower. Fits the Vendetta 2 CPU Cooler. This is one tough case!

Weaknesses:

Hard drives are slightly difficult to install because you must take out one of the hard drive bays to install them into. The mounting system is solid though.

Posted 1 year ago - Overall this case was a good buy, especially for the price you can get it here at Provantage. It has huge airflow and places to mount more fans into it if need be. The cable management is not superior but zip ties do the trick to tie down loose cables. The placement of the Power/ Reset buttons along with the USB and Headphone out is really handy so you don"t have to reach down to the floor or around back of the case to plug in flash drives and other USB things. Another Nice this about this case is that it is very sleek without being too glammy. All in all this case is Awesome. Buy the Antec 900!

5 Star Review Antec 900

Strengths:

Solid, great looking, huge airflow. Handy front side audio(cable for HD or 97) dual USB and a 1394 connection.

Weaknesses:

Power and reset cables need to be longer, as do front side USB/1394 cables. Top side fan could be a spill issue.

Posted 1 year ago - Be aware that power supply sits at the bottom. I like it that way, but cable lengths and card placement can be an issue. Antec sent along 3 extra 120mm fans. Apparently they had some issues with bad ones. All 3 worked that came in the case.
