Posted Mar 29, 2005 - The Denon DRM-555 stereo cassette tape deck appears to have excellent build quality. I like the large fluorescent display panel with the large numbers and letters that are easy to read from a distance. The electronic tape counter is nice and much better than mechanical counters on some machines. The left and right audio level meters are displayed in a horizontal bar graph with a peak hold function that is very useful for recording. The display can be adjusted for 7 different brightness levels which is good for different ambient lighting in a room. I use the front panel headphone jack for late night playback so as not to disturb others. I highly recommend this cassette deck to other users based on quality, features, and value.
