drwillis07 - (June 09, 2008) Bought the Palermo because of its look and the hope that by avoiding a Home Depot/Lowe's knock-off I would buy a superior product. The controls worked sporadically after installation - but getting a change in fan speed or light required dozens of button presses. Occasionally something would change - so the remote did communicate with the fan - but completely inconsistently. Trying different dipswitch settings and a different remote control accomplished nothing; neither did changing relative position between the fan and I. smashingpeggy - (May 17, 2008) I was excited to have this ceiling fan and light in my newly remodeled bedroom. My husband installed it and I thought there was something wrong with the light. The LEDs are about as bright as a night light. I'm sad to have to, but we will be taking it back.

johnnyreags - (February 29, 2008) The Hunter Palermo ceiling fan is a great addition to the bedroom. My wife and I decided to install it in our master bedroom since it comes with built in remote controll operation. This is my first ceiling fan that is controlled by remote instead of at the wall, and I will never go back. My only wish is that it had a sleep timer on it, since sometimes you wish you could just have the fan on when you go to sleep at night. Fan operation is pristine, great Hunter quality. This bi-directional fan comes with everything needed in a box, the fun is you get to install it. Nothing more than a weekend day's worth of work, and I'm slow at most things. pokey1 - (09/02/2009) After installing it, I just about flipped when I turned on the light. It's like a very dim florescent bulb that's about as bright as a night-light. No way anyone would want that. You can't even see. It reminds me of a black light at a nightclub and even messes with your eyes if you look at it like a black light. I'm pretty ticked because it sat here for months waiting to be installed when the room was redone and it took a lot of work to put it up and now I'll have to take it back. And they most likely won't because it's been so long. Why would they not make a replacement light for it after all the complaints?!

lonnieb9 - (04/02/2009) the fan itself looks great however if i had know how lousy the light was i would have never purchesed it or had it installed! please help, has anyone been able to find a solution to this problem

krauss1188 - (04/02/2009) This fan looks great; however, I have to agree with the other comments. The LED light is horrible in terms of the light that it gives off. I would compare it to a dim hallway light. I am really not sure why anyone would desire a light so dim. Very disappoiting.
