4 Star Review The Razr is a keeper!

Strengths:

Slim design, high tech materials, light weight, large screen, voice dialing software.

Weaknesses:

Software lacks some of the features that are available on earlier Motorola models;side buttons difficult to operate;inability to modify home keys;no option to vibrate then ring

Posted Apr 16, 2006 - This phone is beautiful and has some great features such as the size and color of the screen, the feel and size of the keys, and super slim design. The keys are easy to manipulate in low light and the texturing makes them even easier with just a feel. This is especially useful when text messaging. The soft buttons on the sides of the flip are a little difficult to push and the fact that they are on the flip, reverses the effect between when the phone is open or closed. So quick action to silence a ringer or change ring types is difficult because your learned behavior has to change. Consequently even after 2 months of use I cannot change ring types easily without pushing multiple combinations of the side soft keys. The software is intuitive and has a lot of features; the ability to access the internet is handy. Unfortunately V Cast is not available in my area so I don't have access to that feature. Having been used to a V265, the software lacks some of the features that I have had, eg., automatic message clean up and the ability to scroll through the messages when open. In addition you cannot modify the home keys and menus do not seem to be available when needed from some screens. There are menu items that have no explanation, e.g., "auto save" and "auto erase" and the manual neglects to tell you how to use these options. Furthermore, Motorola phone techs do not know and what they think those commands should do, does not happen. I would like to have a message clean-up option and there seems to be none. The voice recognition software is excellent and in addition to being able to dial names and numbers, you can use voice for other menu commands and to start text messages. Now all they need is the ability to dictate the text message too! The camera takes good pictures and video and adding pix and special ringers to contacts is a lot of fun. Overall, the Razr is a nice piece of equipment with a lot of style and functionality.

5 Star Review Great phone with Verizon

Strengths:

I can put the RAZR in my pocket, and I don't feel its weight.

Weaknesses:

phone takes forever to change the settings, or to get to the options menu, or message menu.

Posted Apr 11, 2006 - I have both a Verizon RAZR and a 710 Nextel phone. With Verizon, I don't have dropped calls. I can put the RAZR in my pocket, and I don't feel its weight. The RAZR allows me to walk about with the same feeling I had before cellular phones were invented. It's virtually not there. But it is. It has great battery life. Though small, I can hear everyone without trouble. The speakerphone is loud, though the phone is so small. I haven't dropped the phone, so I can't speak to that issue of durability. I have dropped the Nextel many times, and it continues to work, but I much prefer the RAZR. I am thinking of not using Nextel at all. The durability issue some have raized does make me wonder, but the lightness of the RAZR is the spectacular feeling of having a phone that has just about every feature, but the feeling of not carrying a phone at all.

5 Star Review Gorgeous! PLENTY of memory! Phone of my dreams!

Strengths:

Everything...Signal Quality, battery life, sleek design, COMPLEMENTS!!!

Weaknesses:

People try to steal the phone...lol! ;-)

Posted Apr 4, 2006 - Gorgeous! PLENTY of memory...pictures/text messages/videos/voice records/ringtones. Haven't gotten a chance to use the Bluetooth yet, but I hear the quality is amazing. Speakerphone is wonderful! Speaker sound is crisp, clear, and LOUD! With 30MB of memory, you have enough room to store anything you want. The 1.3MP camera takes great pictures. Picture messaging is as easy as 1, 2, 3! Keypad is nice, very thin phone. Everyone loves this phone, and being the V3c, it has many bonuses which makes this phone probably the best flip phone ever! Backlight is bright, both display inside and outside phone is bright and dims accordingly to ambient light changes. Battery life is great! I talk a LOT on the phone, and this phone has never died on me, and it may seem irrelevant to some people, but I find that being able to charge the phone while you are on it is key. Overall this phone...ROCKS! If you are reading this to determine the phone you will get...trust me. This phone will go above and beyond any expectations you have. I am a perfectionist when it comes to electronics and computers and this phone blew me away. Nothing compares! BUY IT.
