I have had one for about three years and needed another to go in a shower that we just remodeled. Big time display is easy to read and a key feature in our house. Have had absolutely no problems with the one we bought previously and it remains in the shower always and is used daily. Tried products from Sharper Image and Brookstone which cost more and this one was by far the best combination of size, sound, and quality of construction.

TopStrengths: Durable, Excellent sound, Batteries last a long time
Weakness: Buttons on top are hard to see when the radio hangs in a high position
I have three of these radios and have had one for three years now. I have had no problems with any of them. I am not even sure if we have had to replace the batteries yet.
While the buttons can be hard to see when the radio is hung high, you become familiar with the buttons and can feel your way around. The ON button is larger than the others and the OFF button is next to it. There are also station PRESET buttons.
All three radios show no signs of water damage and continue to operate flawlessly.

TopStrengths: Has a positive On/Off switch that will not turn on inside a travel case by accident.
Weakness: Needs a selective timer to turn off after 15/30/45/60 minutes.
Very pleased with the sound quality. LCD clock has not malfunctioned in the shower. I like the small sise to take outside while working in the yard.

Weakness: weak sound
This is a good shower radio. It has digital AM/FM/TV/Weather tuners. It does not have a CD player, but I did not want one because the CD player drains the battery much faster. It has all the basic features you expect in a shower radio. You can mount the radio on your shower head with the included cord. The only negative is that it does not have full sound. There is only one speaker in the front. The sound is good for a shower radio, but don't expect it to sound like a stand alone radio.

This has been a great radio. All the features seem easy to use. The buttons on the top are easier than switches on other radio's I have had. Good radio for the price.

Tophaving purchased and dumped many shower radios, this is the best I've seen yet. Easy to program, good FM and AM reception, solid body, clock is great -- overall good buy.

I have been using this radio for several years with no problems. excellent sound for the size & price. batteries last a long time. pleanty of presets. automatic timer to turn radio off after set times. I would recommend this radio to my friends.

SONY ICFS79 SHOWER RADIO
Strengths: Good combination of small size and decent sownd, good reception, ledgible LCD display, well made, good combination of features
Weakness: Hard to use if hanging from the shower head pipe; not easy to place in a normal bathtup arrangement
This radio is tough as a tank! My son has dropped it more times then I can count and it has never broken. We like it so much we just bought a second one for our other bathroom. Well done SONY!
