GE Harmony DPGT750 Profile Dryer-- Love It!
It is quiet, fast, easy to use.
It is expensive, even on sale. The dryer vent kit to switch to side venting is very expensive for 3 pieces of metal piping.
Posted Sep 16, 2007 - I love this dryer! It is quiet, and this was most important to me because my washer and dryer are in a closet in a hall next to my kitchen, where my husband and I spend lots of time through out the day. It drys my clothes much, much faster than my old dryer. The computer entry screen is easy to read and and easy to use. You have many choices on temperature, time, fabric type, etc so you can protect your clothes while drying them. The lint filter is easily accessible right up front, so it is easy to clean before each use; the door opening can easily be switched from left to right opening. The auto moisture sensing works so well that I have never had to reset the dryer to continue to dry the same load twice, all the while not overdrying my clothes. The manual is easy to read and understand. I only wish the dryer top was level, rather than slightly curved???? Why the GE engineers did this is a question -- unless GE did not want users to put or keep anything on the dryer top? My only complaint is the dryer venting adapter kit from GE to switch from the standard rear venting to either left or right or bottom is very expensive. Directly from GE is was more than $140.00. I would recommend looking at other vendors who sell this kit to save some money if you are going to do this yourself. If you decide to do this modification yourself, just be sure to read the directions very carefully and test the pieces to make sure you are making the correct connections and directions. The working space inside the dryer is very small and you can cut your arms if you do not wear long sleeves while doing the modification. I would highly recommend this dryer; when my washer dies, I will definitely buy the matching washer to my new dryer.
