5 Star Review Upgrade your iron with the Black and Decker D2030

Strengths:

Digital displays and Steam features

Weaknesses:

Slightly heavy

Posted Mar 2, 2007 - Most impressive about the B&D D2030 Steam Iron are the steam features which include Variable Steam Control, Vertical Steaming and Steam bursts. Other features which I liked are the Digital Temperature Displays, auto-off and auto-cleaning. Altogether, it is a big step up from the B&D F495SA Steam Iron which I had used for many years.

5 Star Review great iron

Strengths:

heats up fast, heavy, good steam power

Weaknesses:

heavy

Posted Feb 1, 2007 - This is a great iron. I was using a T-fal and this iron blows it away. This iron is heavy which to me is a good thing, but to same it may not be. I figure the heavier, the more weight on the fabric which helps iron it (think old school black iron). This iron heats up fast and works VERY well.

5 Star Review A GREAT VALUE AND PERFORMER

Strengths:

Works just as well as the higher priced irons.

Weaknesses:

none so far

Posted Dec 29, 2006 - I've owned two Rowenta steam irons - the first one (Advantage) just stopped working, and the second one (Duo) developed a leak from the water reservoir - both were out of warranty and less than two years old. I was very disappointed with the build quality and durability of these irons, so I decided to change brands. After much research on-line, I decided to purchase the D2030 from a brick and mortar store. With the B&D D2030, it's easy to tell when the iron is ready to be used - it was hard to tell that with the Rowenta indicator during sunny days. It's easy to fill and the steam production is great. It's comfortable to use for long periods of time and it costs less than half the price of the Rowentas I purchased. I had an old B&D iron that lasted for years, and I'm hoping this one will last for a long time.

5 Star Review Buying this iron is a good decision

Strengths:

Heats up quickly, uses tap water for most areas of the country, tells you when it needs to be cleaned, comfortable handle even for left-handed people, longer cord than my old iron (10+ feet)

Weaknesses:

Heavier than my old iron, but not much more.

Posted Mar 14, 2007 - I had used a Tefal iron for 10 years and then it finally wouldn't heat up. After such positive reviews on this iron I made the purchase. I am very pleased with its performance. The digital display is bright with large print. It glides over the fabric and even easily irons out the creases I sometimes accidentally iron into the fabric. You do have to set the settings each time you start to iron. (I was spoiled by leaving the setting the same each time since I mostly ironed cottons.) They recommend that you set the steam setting to "no steam" when you're done ironing. All-in-all, I like this iron.

5 Star Review A winner!

Strengths:

Heats up very fast, easy to use controls.

Weaknesses:

Haven't found any. I like the weight---neither too heavy nor too light for my purposes.

Posted 1 year ago - I bought this iron almost a year ago, based on Consumer Reports and the reviews I read online. I don't usually come back a year later and write reviews, but this one is worth taking the time for. I don't use an iron on a daily basis, but this one is a pleasure to use. Actually makes ironing halfway enjoyable. Stongly recommend.

5 Star Review Finally, an iron that delivers!

Strengths:

Gets rid of wrinkles ... duh!

Weaknesses:

none yet

Posted May 3, 2007 - Easy to use - no need to go over and over the fabric. Better than much higher priced irons I've bought and been disappointed with. So far, so good, here's hoping it lasts.

5 Star Review Black and Decker D2030 Steam Iron

Strengths:

Steam feature is awesome. Digital display very useful.

Weaknesses:

None

Posted Mar 30, 2007 - I had a high end Rowina iron, which never came close to the performance of this model. My ironing time was cut in half, and with the the superb steam feature, I don't even need to use spray starch.

Weaknesses:

5 Star Review I Love This Iron!!!

Strengths:

Excellent steam with variable output. Smooth soleplate. Easy to fill with water, no spillage, no spatters.

Weaknesses:

A little heavier than other irons, but I am getting used to it, and it really helps put extra pressure on the garment.

Posted Aug 3, 2006 - I love to iron now. The Black & Decker D2030 is a pleasure to use. It heats up very fast. It turns off automatically if you forget to. The first time I used it I couldn't stop ironing. I could iron twice as fast as with my old iron. The variable temperature and steam are so easy to adjust. The burst of steam is great for those hard to get out wrinkles. I haven't used the steam in the upright position yet, but intend to use it on my drapes and dust ruffles.
