Strengths: The grinder has a large capacity and grinds from very fine to coarse.
Weakness: The only weakness I see is that the appliance is a little large.
I have been pleased with the grinder so far. It grinds nicely, holds a lot of coffee beans and is easy to clean. I also like the 18 month warranty as I have had problems with other brands.

Weakness: When removing the ground coffee, it has a tendancy to get all over
I've used a simple Braun grinder for the last 10 years, and it served me very well. The Cuisinart is just about as good. Sounds about the same as my other grinder, and grinds the beans just fine. It is more solid and heavier, and I like the way it looks on the counter top. My only wish is that I could scoop out the ground coffee without removing the container. When it's very low humidity, the grounds have a tendancy to get all over.

Weakness: Twice the price of food processor type grinders, but WORTH every penny!
The resulting coffee is fresh and robust in flavor thanks to the uniformly ground coffee.
It's so easy to use and there no need for pulsing 10 times like less expensive grinders that also heat up the coffee grinds and reduce flavor.
It also can grind just the right amount for a pot of coffee which makes having fresh ground coffee for each pot easy and convenient.

TopStrengths: Attractive, solid construction.
Weakness: Very loud
This is better than a blade grinder but still a bit inconsistant. Some of the grounds are VERY fine and unusable while others are more the right size. Still, this is not bad for a low-end burr grinder.

Grinds coffee perfectly. Holds 1/2 pound so it is not a daily task. Coffee is much fresher. I had a one pot at a time grinder before and no control of the grind. I would highly recomend this product. Fast delivery.

Strengths: Low price for a burr grinder, looks good, easy adjustment, quiet enough. Good for filter drip and french press.
Weakness: Bean hopper and grind catcher are clear. Paddle mechanism instead of direct fall. No direct on/off switch; timer only.
The Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind grinds coffee uniformly enough for me, down to a paper filter grind, but maybe not superfine enough for expresso pullers. The grind falls inside the machine and is pushed out into the grind catcher container by a rotating paddle wheel mechanism that will probably wear down. Cleaning out the paddle area to make way for new and different beans will be a chore if you're opposed to some mixing, but a cleaning brush is included. To be fair about uniformity, I should note that when grinding between fine and medium, some extra-fine grounds stick to the upper front right corner of the grind catcher container, possibly blown there by the paddle. You might not want such fine-ground coffee in your french press, but you can remove it before scooping out the regular grind. I don't mind having it in my paper cone filters. This replaces a Hamilton Beach blender-style grinder that simply stopped turning on, and like that one, this one only turns on a timer (there's no simple on/off switch), so I'm worried that the same thing might happen if the circuitry is similar. Finally, I don't know why nobody seems to make burr grinders with containers that protect beans and grinds from light.

Weakness: Motor not made to take even light use.
I make 2 dbl shots a day. I only used this grinder 2 times a week. In less than 6 months the motor died. Love the design and the outside build but it really should last for years not months

TopStrengths: Clean - did not spray coffee grinds out the sides when grinding (unlike the grinder it replaced, which always required cleaning the counter after using.)
Weakness: Burned out very quickly. Also noisy.
Within a month of purchase, the motor burned out - the symptom was the smoke that we smelled, and the fact that it no longer was grinding the beans. The use was normal home use, with dark roast beans.
Cuisinart Customer Service directed us to return it to the retailer. While I don't think it was the retailer's fault, I don't anticipate any problems in returning it.

TopStrengths: While this grinder worked, it was doing a wonderful job.
Weakness: I have owned two of these, purchased with price in mind. After less than a year the grinder ceased to work sporadically. It was not dependable and has now completely stopped working.
After this product failed a second time I called the manufacturer. After a long delay in responding, I was advised to send a check and ship it back. They would refurbish and return. I would not purchase this product again.
