SacramentoTim - (December 12, 2005) If you have had any experience with grind and brews you know that it takes more to clean them. You also know that if you love good coffee the rewards are worth it. Some people mistake bitterness for strong coffee. This machine gives the strength without the bitterness. I find that cleaning right after the brew light goes out and letting the parts dry on my sink rack makes it pretty easy. It takes about a minute. If your gold filter gets to the point of clogging, as someone indicated, I would say you have some serious hygene issues. It does pour slowly but it also keeps your coffee hot for a long time. It is required to restrict the pour spout to retain the heat. This product delivers what it

Steve in MA - (October 17, 2005) If the Breville 800ESXL was a digital camera, it would belong in the “prosumer” category. This is a professional quality espresso machine intended for the home user that knows what a good espresso is. Not only does this machine look the part of a professional quality machine, it has the performance to match. This is the third “home” espresso machine that I’ve owned, and it is by far the best. Heavy-duty barely describes how this machine is built, yet its sleek, modern appearance and stainless steel finish is quite at home on the kitchen counter. The high pressure pump, professional quality filter basket, and swivel steam wand rival the features I’ve seen on machines costing twice

noears123 - (October 22, 2004) I have enjoyed the coffee made from this machine. I was always dumping out old coffee, and found myself at Starbucks twice a week, so looking at that, the price of the pods is the lessor to two evils

foodee2 - (11/22/2009) I liked this machine a lot at first, although I cannot make more than about 6 or 7 cups strong enough with the amount of coffee I like. I dislike having to clean it after each and every use -- it is a consequence of the design. There is no design mechanism to prevent the steam feeding back into the grinder basket so you must remove it and clean it after each use. The lid leaks after about 6 months of use, it sometimes leaks from the water reservoir now as well. The most irritating thing is the grinder basket gets wedged in and cannot be removed, even with thorough cleaning and applying olive oil to the mechanism. Cuisinart said that is just the way it is after a couple of years. Okay machine if you don't mind all the hassle, and just plan on replacing it as soon as the warranty expires.

poetrypower - (11/04/2009) I desperately need caffeine to stay awake at my boring job all day, but I am pretty lazy, so I was relying on canned colas and buying coffee from coffee shops. I got the Green Mountain coffee catalog in the mail and saw this brewer, and I thought it would be the perfect solution. It makes delicious coffee and tea. There is a huge selection of k-cups (coffees, teas, even Chai and mocha). I love the removable water tank on the machine -- I take it to the water fountain and fill it. It's so great to only have a coffee mug to wash every day instead of a big pot like on Mr. Coffee.
MrMac1 - (11/02/2009) Have used present unit near 10 years. Sent one to son at college. It simply works - making water hot for a shot of instant coffee, tea etc. We preheat water to kick start boiling water for pasta as well as soup and other such needs. Will buy as gift item often. Love it...threw our Tea kettle away years ago. I'll bet the savings on heating old teapot method has paid for HotShot many Xs over!
