Awesome game

Strengths:

Highly interactive environment, great game play, beautiful graphics, seemingly endless quests. Very open ended game leaves alot to the player's imagination.

Weaknesses:

After about 1000 dungeons, new places even start to look familiar.

One of the best RPGs ever

Strengths:

Huge open world gameplay, beautiful graphics, tons of replayability

Weaknesses:

Combat is kind of bad, some characters look odd

Posted Apr 24, 2008 - The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is simply one of the greatest RPGs I've ever played. The game world is fully realized and upon the start of the game you have a literally huge world ready for you to explore. Oblivion is a game where you can choose what you want to do, and build up those skills accordingly. You can act however you want to townspeople, albeit with consequences of course. In this game you can go to any town, talk to anyone and choose to take on various missions or tackle the main task of saving the world from the evil invaders. The experience is a great one as you feel very immersed in this world. The only thing anyone can take away from this game is that the combat is a bit simple as you just click away at enemies. But everything else makes up for it. If you love role playing games, there is no way you could not like Oblivion, give it a try.

Great looking graphics in the last installment of Oblivion series

Strengths:

great detail in characters, environment, open ended quests

Weaknesses:

demands a beefed up PC with good graphics card

Posted Nov 28, 2007 - The story begins in the dungeon (as a prisioner) and soon you are meeting the king of the castle. He makes an escape route which you follow and the story begins. The storyline is very involving. You are assigned different quests which can have different endings. At the beginning of a game, you are given the opportunity to create your character with many different traits. There are many ways to explore the Oblivion environment. I've played it for more than 100 hours and still find it amazing. Should you get tired of the entire environment, you can purchase additional expansion packs. There is also a very complete game guide that can be purchased separately. My computer is by no means a gamer PC, but I can run the game with medium settings and still find plenty of details that will make you enjoy the game even more. Definitely a well made game that will keep you entertained.

One of the benchmark games for 2006 and maybe the whole decade

Strengths:

Tremendously large game world with lovely graphics, exciting missions, great skill system and decent replayability

Weaknesses:

Full appreciation of the graphics demands a powerful PC

Posted Apr 28, 2007 - We had played this game extensively on Xbox 360 before getting the PC version. It did not disappoint. With graphics cranked up, it manages to put even the Xbox experience to shame. A stellar RPG with something for everyone.
