Posted Oct 20, 2006 - This game will now install the IGA Advertising software on your machine. IGA claims to monitor your internet activity so that it is able to effectively serve advertisement to you while playing the game. DO NOT buy this game unless you are comfortable with having another application tracking your internet activity. You can't return it once you've opened it.

SpyWare Alert

Posted Oct 18, 2006 - I hope that those who read this realize what a threat to games in general this represents. EA, with no regards to thinking how fans may feel about this, added advertisements that will flash in the game based off of information gleaned via their spyware!! I do not want commercials in games. I do not want spyware. I definitely do not want this game to succeed and thus give other game companies the idea that spyware is good. I'm not buying this game and I may never buy an EA product again.

Brilliant Except For So Manyy People Complaing About It

Posted Nov 29, 2006 - This game is awrsome. No question. The game play is excerlent, the graphics are amazing (need to get a better PC though lol). Put simply its an awsome game id recomend to anyone and i hope that all these people that have nothign better to do then complain and insist that they will not buy the game. We all know thats just plain sad. Is anyone making you buy it?............. Its only flaws are the bugs which are getting sorted out in the patches. In conclusion buy this game. You'll have fun if u consentrate on playing instead of looking for bugs and glitches.

Some VP Must Have Overpromised A Deadline

Posted Nov 11, 2006 - Some VP must have set some lofty deadline and release date for BF2142 in order to get a promotion. That is the only scenario I can think of. Why would EA go for this type of product? It is more of a fancy MOD rather than a new release. A $50 buck price tag? Yes, you can imagine the pitch to EA Executive Management citing ad revenue, a new EA BF product, full price. Perhaps it is the Executive management who is driving this fast half-assed release in order to meet revenue projections? And, yes, drive the stock price higher to increase their bonuses. A sad day for Electronic Arts, indeed.

Great Game

Posted Oct 28, 2006 - Great game over all, I can't stand the advertising commercial ad-ware. Though, I have not seen any commercials yet it being there makes me want to run Spy Bot S&D constantly. If there are commercials to raise revenue the game should be free and not $49.99. Usually you pay to have a commercial free product like a DVD movie. Who wants a commercial every 20 minutes. Could have been 5 stars if not for the ad-ware!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not Call this 21st century warfare

Posted Oct 20, 2006 - Compared to BF2 This game is very cinematic. Lots of high res textures. The Game is very Glitchy. Especially in TITAN Mode. On my brand new AlienWare M9700 The Game will close with out warning after 1 to 2 min of game play.(very frusterating) EA has released a patch 1.01 to fix the problem but most of the online servers have not installed it. The Game play its self is not as intense as BF2 but the glitches can sometimes be funny and that pretty entertaining since there are so many. The Plot is kind of retarted. Since everyone is fighting for food, it would seem more logical to build some green houses than wage massive warfare on really big hightech battleships.

Monitoring?

Posted May 20, 2007 - I think this is a good game. There is balance between difficulty and fun. But why do I have to be monitored when I play the game that I have paid for?
