A Modern Look and Good Choice

Strengths: Convection oven, heavy cast iron grates which are raised, an additional burner to grill or use a griddle or oversized pot, recessed cooktop, cast iron covers for burners, warming oven, self cleaning.

Weakness: None found.

When they see it, everyone wants my stove! I found my stove on sale at Sears and I love it! The controls are digital and the control panel is easy to keep clean. The recessed cooktop is also easy to clean. The design is modern and sleek.

The cast iron burner covers and grates can go in the dishwasher but are easy to keep clean. I occasionally can fruits and vegetables which require a hot water bath, the stove top never gets too hot because the grates are raised. This wasn't the case with my last stove. The stove top would get very hot and so would the kitchen.

There is a warming oven below the main oven and you can proof bread with it. The main oven also has a convection setting which I don't use often but it is handy.

The oven has a variety of settings, including a delay feature. The range essentially has two timers because you can set the time for the oven and also set the timer to time something else. The oven has a good light that is set with a digital setting as well.

The range comes with a non-stick griddle that has a flat side or can be flipped to grill. This fits over the left front and back burner and has a 5th burner (bridge) so that all areas of the griddle are heated. This is a godsend when cooking for a family breakfast.

As I said before, I love this stove and if I ever move I'll either get a brand new one just like it or take it with me! I've had a number of ranges over the years but this is the best stove I've ever owned.

Don't Love It

Strengths: Convection and bottom warming oven.

Weakness: Very slippery stovetop grates. No broiler pan.

The stovetop grates are slippery and pots can easliy slide. Would never allow a child or even a teenager to cook on this stove as a pot of hot food or water can slip (even when the stove is properly leveled). Also, GE decided 2 months ago to discontinue supplying a broiler pan and one must be ordered separately.
