Strengths: Size, flat, colors, brightness modes, image displacement on the overall monitor, and believe it or not height!

Weaknesses: Clearness, sharpness, not for TEXT, now other then the expected 2 horizontal lines, 2-4 vertical lines appeared after a week, and they are there to stay - ANNOYING! NOT for pro use/ designers!

I bought this one because of all the reviews from MacWorld, website, yada yada yada etc etc. I don't know who wrote it, but they better look again. This is my first monitor NEC, and I have to admit I am disappointed. The price was promising as well as the size (22'), BUT the quality is really bad The screen looks fogy to the point, I am getting head aches, and no I don’t wear eye glasses ;) The monitor was used primarily for CG and Animation, but its going back to Dell! I am going for my second choice the SONY CDP-G520P, 100 or so bucks more expansive than the NEC, but I have the feeling its going to worth it. I should of staid with SONY. Well folks that's my 2 cents about the FP2141SB from NEC.

Hope this was helpful,

Eidan.

I noticed you said DELL. Dell uses proprietary design specification, meaning it is build according to Dell specs. I bought a Dell 1.5 years ago and have found I can not update anything except the video board with the latest manufacture's drivers. I sent 21 E-mails to Dell (until warrantee expired) to no avail, just form letter responses. So I swapped out the Dell boards with a manufacture's boards and solved the some of the problems. I still have one problem; Dell has not put out an update for my chip set on my MOBO. And Intel's update does not see the chip set. So I am unable to use DirectX 9.0C features. I guess I will be swapping out the last thing that is Dell's. Dell's prices may be cheap, but you get what you pay for.
