This 22" (20" viewable image size) monitor features a SuperBright Diamondtron flat aperture grille, with an OptiClear treatment. It supports many resolutions up to a maximum of 2048 x 1536 with a refresh rate up to 86Hz. The 0.24mm dot pitch results in clear, fine images. Posted Apr 17, 2004 - I did about 40 hours of research before buying this monitor. I bought it primarily for gaming and graphic arts, but it is great for everything. Text is crisp. Graphics pop off of the screen. I looked at both CRTs and LCDs due to my lack of space but as any gamer or graphic artist will tell you CRTs are the only way to go. Geometry is fine on this CRT and refresh rate is 85 Mhz at top resolution. The picture clarity is incredible and although it is a big monitor its space saving case makes it the same size as my 19" Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 900u at work. I would recommend this monitor to anyone who wants the ultimate CRT at this price point.

Strengths:

High resolution HEAVY gaming at top-notch refresh rates !!! 4 USB ports on the side BEAUTIFULL !

Weaknesses:

USB is 1.1

Strengths:

Size, flat, colors, brightness modes, image displacement on the overall monitor, and believe it or not height!

Weaknesses:

Clearness, sharpness, not for TEXT, now other then the expected 2 horizontal lines, 2-4 vertical lines appeared after a week, and they are there to stay - ANNOYING! NOT for pro use/ designers!

Posted Jan 1, 2004 - I bought this one because of all the reviews from MacWorld, website, yada yada yada etc etc. I don't know who wrote it, but they better look again. This is my first monitor NEC, and I have to admit I am disappointed. The price was promising as well as the size (22'), BUT the quality is really bad The screen looks fogy to the point, I am getting head aches, and no I don’t wear eye glasses ;) The monitor was used primarily for CG and Animation, but its going back to Dell! I am going for my second choice the SONY CDP-G520P, 100 or so bucks more expansive than the NEC, but I have the feeling its going to worth it. I should of staid with SONY. Well folks that's my 2 cents about the FP2141SB from NEC. Hope this was helpful, Eidan.

DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY!

Posted Mar 19, 2003 - This product is faulty. I had 4 of them replaced from march 2 to march 19. The top of the monitor stretches out. Technical support wasn't able to do anything about this so they gave up and are going to give me a refund. I strongly suggest you not do the same mistake I did and buy a NEC/Mitsubisi product
