mmotoda - (May 24, 2004) For the money, this monitor is tough to beat. While there were superior monitors on the market, this one cost about $200 less than other CRT monitors I was looking at, and this provides an excellent image. This monitor is great if you're looking for an interim replacement for your aging 17" or 19" CRT monitor, and don't feel that LCD performance or costs are at the point where you're ready to dive in (that explains my situation in a nutshell). My working resolution (1600x1200x32@85Hz) looks great, and for a CRT, is very clear. I leaned towards this monitor due to it using an invar shadow mask, as opposed to the more common aperture grille. I hate the horizontal lines, so this monitor

erik_dude - (December 02, 2003) If you just want a monitor that's big and has fantastic resolution, this is pretty much awesome. However, if you plan to use this for color accurate work... think again. This is the FOURTH LaCie monitor I"ve bought, and now the last. Each monitor has experienced a color shift over time. The first one took a year or two before it got so fuzzy it was unusable for anything. Warranty replaced it. Then the next one I bought began to show a STRONG color shift: heavy on the blue/green on one side and heavy on the magenta on the other. Manual controls couldn't fix it. Blue Eye controls don't fix it (this reads ony the center of the monitor). Nothing fixed. it. Other friends have had similar problems

carolynbL - (July 23, 2004) For any video or photo editor, this monitor is a must have. It's outstanding picture quality is far better than any monitor I have previously owned. And the price will not break the bank. True it is very large and takes up lots of room but CRT monitors still outperform LCD's when it comes to image quality and accurate color reproduction. Hopefully one day LCD technology will catch up to CRT. I sure could use the extra space. In the meantime, this Lacie will sit proudly on my desk.

4 Star Review ViewSonic G220fb

MohonriMoriancomur - (03/15/2008) as a designer or web and print, i love it. it is consistent which means it's dependable. it's stylish and the geometry is accurate. I've configured over 200 monitors for graphics and layout purposes and this monitor (next to the NEC competition) is the best. great price, great weight compromise, and beautiful images. if people take the time to tweak it like they do their gamer hotrod systems, it'll more than handle what is thrown at it. All I can say is...."that'll do pig."

12cleanboy - (01/22/2008) You will not be disapointed in this monitor. unless you must have a teeny thin LCD. WHICH DONT IMPRESS ME MUCH FOR THE COST.bottom line is they dont make this monitor anymore. which is unfortunate. because you just cant get close to this with LCD

4 Star Review ViewSonic E90fb

pensive1968 - (09/02/2007) I purchased this monitor over 4 years ago and have moved it several times do to my career. It has never let me down and still works as good as the day I bought it online. I did upgrade to the ViewSonic VX2235wm Black 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor and my wife now uses the monitor and likes it :)
