Strengths:

This is by far the best home deep fryer ever. I have owned a number of different deep fryers, and have never been totally satisfied with their ability to fry well. This Waring deep fryer does what many fryers can not - it holds its temperature when you pl

Weaknesses:

The only negative is that the unit is big and requires lots of oil, but that is also a positive, as little units can't fry much, let alone even hold a corn dog or other large item. If you love deep fr

Posted Oct 28, 2004 - Reaches desired heat setting suprisingly fast. Heat recovery is also pleasingly fast. Basket/container accomodates large portions. Controls are simple and practical. Timer is an added feature. Clean-up is simple and easy. The unit is good-looking and a welcome addition to our kitchen. Worth the additional cost over competing brands

5 Star Review Excellent Home Deep Fryer

Strengths:

Stainless Steel oil tank with pour spout. Easy to clean. 3.5 liter oil capacity. Well contructed.

Weaknesses:

Controls positioned near steam vent.

Posted Feb 15, 2006 - Excellent home deep fryer, large oil capacity for better heat retention. Controls knobs (power and timer) are large and easy to read. A baffle plate is attached over the immersible heating element so your fry basket does not rest directly on the heating element. Heavy duty stainless steel oil tank versus other brands painted sheet metal. I found three variations of this fryer. Lowest price was SAMs Club which sells this fryer under their own model name for $80. Several major retailers (Amazon, LNT, Bed Bath Beyond) sell DF200 for $130, Sears wants $190. I purchased mine from Williams-Sonoma, model GB-DF200, for $130 because their model comes with 3 fry baskets: one large basket as the other models, and 2 half-size baskets which allows cooking of two different foods simultaneously. Williams-Sonoma includes lifetime warranty versus one year from Waring. Prior to final purchase I brought home several deep fryers to compare side-by-side as the product descriptions of many were vague and incomplete. The Waring DF200 immediately stood out as much better built than all the similiar style fryers. Amazon average customer rating is near perfect.

4 Star Review Waring Pro deep Fryer

Strengths:

heats to desired temp quickly, various pieces disassemble for easy wash up.

Weaknesses:

needs a spout to drain oil

Posted Aug 2, 2005 - We've used this several times and it always works perfectly. We made deep fried tacos using various wraps and fillings. I would recommend this fryer over other home fryers because it has the largest oil container. But dealing with the oil is a hassle, anything they can do to make it easier would be great. Paid about $100 with the Linens & Things 20% coupon - that's the best price I could find.
