2gb memory would have been great. button on top of the tower can turn off PC easily if uoy touch it byy mistake.

Posted Jun 7, 2007 - I had waited for long time to get the right system for me and when i saw this i thought thats what i wanted for a year is right there. Also if you need a second or third PC for the kids to use for everyday multimedia tasks, the s3020n is worth giving it a try . they will enjoy it.

4 Star Review Happy So far

Strengths:

Ultra compact, small but somewhat upgradability

Weaknesses:

Pricey, NO DVI output

Posted Jun 18, 2007 - I was looking for a desktop which is small and cute. I found this one and it was a love at first sight. The config is pretty decent with, Athlon 64 X 2 3800 2gHz, 250GB hard drive SATA, 1GB RAM, Lightscribe DVD writer, NVIDIA 6150 onboard Graohics card, VISTA HOme Premium etc. It has 1 USB in front and 4 on the back. CD/DVD drive is vertical for a change. Note that it doesn't come with a monitor. As the graphics card uses the RAM too, you need to upgrade the RAm to 2GB for better Aero performance. You can also upgrade the Graphics card in the PCIe X16 slot however, it can only take half height (low profile) cards which isn't cheap and not too many available. There is only VGA output and no DVI. Overall I liked the performance. It can handle 4-5 different tasks simultaneously. Recommended if you can get it with some offer like free monitor or rebates as right now it retails for ~ $579.

1 Star Review Don't waste your money.

Strengths:

small, compact

Weaknesses:

Bad mouse, bad keyboard, motherboard keeps crashing, poor HP customer service

Posted 1 year ago - The keyboard space button keeps sticking. The rollerball mouse is archaic. The mother board is probably one of the worst designed pieces of computer hardware ever. Mine has been back to the factory 3 times and just crashed again. And when you complain to HP and try to get it replaced, they don't care. NEVER BUYING HP for me or my company AGAIN! (and I have more than 400 computers at my work!)

5 Star Review Small, Quiet and Quick

Strengths:

Small size, quiet, fast, built-in wireless

Weaknesses:

Annoying preloaded software, no DVI connection, pocket media drives are overpriced

Posted Oct 3, 2007 - The HP S3020n desktop is easy to set up. The unit comes with a wireless PCI card preinstalled. Connecting to a wireless network was simple. The unit takes up very little space and can be positioned vertically or horizontally. It runs fairly quiet and fast when using the 1 GB RAM and integrated video for business use. (Running MS Office 2007 on Vista.) No need to upgrade, yet. HP, Norton, and MS have added their usual panel of automatic security, update and maintenance tools. It took a while to calm down the initial startup "nag screens."

5 Star Review HP Slim Line review

Strengths:

sleek design, compact, fast, powerful, well equipped

Weaknesses:

does not have dual drive, difficult to install new ram, but certainly possible

Posted Jun 28, 2007 - All in all, good value for money; installing ram is a little difficult because u need to remove the optical drive, but once u get a hang of it, it is easy I love the machine

4 Star Review Great Desktop!! Cute and compact!!

Strengths:

It saves up a lot of space on my desk. It looks nice, and it has everything that I need. Definitely a great desktop.

Weaknesses:

It can get a little hot sometime, but doesn't really affect anything.

4 Star Review Great PC for the size and money

Strengths:

It is small and compact. The chassis is absolutely a plus. It is a very artistic addition to average house hold setting.

Weaknesses:

Relatively weak computing power. Though great for average use. Gaming.. not so great

Posted Jun 6, 2007 - Overall a great product. The design is simple and brilliant. The size fits perfectly for a crowded place yet avoids the dullness associated with desktop computers. A recommended buy for person without needy graphical works.
