1 Star Review Not Worth the Money

Strengths:

Cheap

Weaknesses:

Shody workmanship, unreliable product, Fan is REALLY loud

Posted Mar 24, 2008 - This computer was a complete lemon. It crashed due to "Hardware Failure" twice in the first month of ownership. I then had to deal with Dell to return it- they informed me that there is only a 30 day warrenty, it took more that 5 phone calls in order for them to allow a return. I would not reccommend this system to anyone.

5 Star Review Exactly what you need, nothing more

Strengths:

Great options, solid Foxconn board, excellent for general office work. Fairly quiet for a cheap system, and operates fairly cool.

Weaknesses:

Would like more expandability in customization (or gigabit ethernet built-in) and perhaps more software options. The optical doors make the eject button difficult to operate.

Posted Jan 16, 2008 - Built this with Windows XP since I am not convinced of the performance of Vista. Considering purchasing another. I miss the old Dimension cases, where you never needed a single screw to add components or to open the case. I think the case design has gone backwards in terms of usability. Oh well. Dells are still one of the better computers out there.
