The Ascensia Contour comes with a meter, 10 test strips, control solution, quick reference guide and user guide, lancing device with alternate site endcap, adjustable endcap, and 10 lancets, record diary, carrying case, and warranty card. The meter has a nicely updated design which is lighter and smaller than the Breeze2. It measures about 3" x 2.25" x 0.75". There are only 3 buttons on this meter, a menu button which also serves as the power button, and up and down selector buttons. jetskier287 - (July 17, 2006) Having been a Type 1 diabetic for 23 years I have seen just about every blood glucose meter out there and this one, in my opinion, is just about perfect. There is no coding, no batteries to replace/fail, the results appear in just a few seconds and it has a memory. The only thing I didn't like about this meter is that it has no date/time feature. On the other hand that means you don't have to set the clock :-). The price is unbeatable. A box of 50 strips for any other meter will cost at least $50 while this is 50 strips and the meter ready to go right out of the package for $31.99 (best price I've seen anywhere). chellrolls - (July 07, 2005) I am very pleased with the One Touch Ultra Smart Meter.It is a Meter and Eletronic Logbook in one.Also it uses a small drop of Blood.This meter is user friendly.I highly recommend this product to others because it makes testing soeasy and less painful

qrx22 - (10/30/2008) Since glucose meter rebates are so common, I think it's important to point out that this rebate does come in the mail. Although it takes awhile, the company does honor their advertised offers. It also comes with a few coupons for test strips and lancets. The retail kit includes a glucose meter, a detachable lancet device, 1 test drum, control solution, carrying case, and instructions. The unit is a bit bulky (about 4.5" x 2" x 1"), but this could be good for older patients who have a hard time handling the smaller glucose meters. On this unit, the lancet device slides into the side of the unit so there's less chance of losing it. Another bonus is that it includes a test drum in the kit. Since it uses a drum, that means less hassle handling little test strips. Also another good thing is it uses standard AAA batteries. If you don't test your blood glucose away from home a lot, this might be a good choice, since some people might think it's too heavy for traveling. It does come with a nice strong case.

The unit has everything you need to start with, even came with 10 FREE strips ready to use. The unit uses a very little blood for analysis and you get the result reading within a few second.
