Posted Mar 16, 2005 - For the price, this is a great bargain. The battery alone retails for ~$50 and the filters ~$30. That itself saved me ~$25 and I got the bag for free. I agree with previous reviews that the carrying case is quite small. It is only large enough for the camera itself, a couple filters, Memory Sticks, and spare batteries. Since I already own a LCS-FHA carrying case, the bag is not a concern of mine. Obviously, the bag is not designed nor intended for people who own extra lenses or flash. Larger bag (i.e. camcorder bag) is recommended for "power users".

The bag is just OK for the camera and the filters ...

Strengths:

extra battery, two filters.

Weaknesses:

kind of small.

Posted Oct 19, 2004 - The bag is just OK for the camera and the filters and extra battery. You can not add any lens, flash or other stuffs. That will be beyond its limit. The extra battery and two filters that come with this case are definitely essential items.

The case for the Sony 717 is both roomy and functi ...

Strengths:

It contains a backup battery which is most important to me. The bag is compact and easy to carry.

Weaknesses:

The bag is kind of small. You can not carry lens or external flash if you put the camera in.

Posted May 10, 2004 - The case for the Sony 717 is both roomy and functional. The extra battery is essential purpose that I bought this starter kit. In addition, the lens filter is a must-have item for this camera to protect the lens. General speaking this kit has a good value with its price.
