Great Media Player
plays nearly everything, works great, easy to use interface, fast menus. no software needed.
occasionally crashes, long boot-up, re-scanning for changes
Posted 1 year ago - i've had very few problems with this device in the 7 months i've owned it. it plays nearly all formats of audio and video, although i haven't tried MKV. the interface is pretty and intuitive, and moving from one menu to the next is very fast. the boot-up time is long, 3 minutes or so, but most of the time the unit goes into "standby" when you turn it off, so the bootup only really matters after it crashes, which happens once a week with heavy use. also, every firmware upgrade fixes problems and adds new features, so you can be sure this is still improving. it can access windows/samba shares, so you don't even need to install software unless you want to use the youtube support. works perfectly with linux/freebsd. wireless works great and is fast. big built-in selection of internet radio stations, including a lot of good ones.
