wujiangjx - (December 19, 2006) This Vicks Ear Thermometer (V971N) is pretty decent and also looks good. It is also accurate as the Braun Thermometer which made in Germany. I will buy another one as a gift for my friend who will have a new-born soon.

mayingnju - (December 30, 2006) This is my second ear thermometer. First one is braun ThermoScan 6012. By comparing the two, I would say both are fast and easy but the Omron one consistently measures 0.2 degree lower than Braun one. I would think both are quite accurate. One tip for ear thermometer: it can actually measure temperature of any part of body. But since it's only calibrated around 100F, the temperature may show up as error if too low. But when your baby have fever, you may also take temperature from forehead easily. Although of course this is not as accurate as measured from ear tunnel.

needle - (January 03, 2007) Having heard that it's very convenient to measure temperature for infants and it's very accurate, I bought this. The piece itself is good, got the reading in a second or so, but the reading appears to be inaccurate some times. It varies form one ear to another. I was little shocked on the first time I saw the reading at 92F and when checked with the my old thermometer (mercury), it showed up 98. We tried few times and it's OK on few instances when we average the temperature on both the ears. Yes, we were making sure that it is placed into the ear perfectly. So far, I cannot trust this, had to double check with the regular one.

yy4yy1 - (05/06/2008) We bought it a few days ago. Trying in few people every one likes this thermometer. I don't know what different between having filler and without filler, but I am not going to buy new fillers anyway.

More fun than you can shake a thermometer at
javadrinker - (09/28/2007) OK, now this is a fun little gadget. You just remove the protective cap, point it at a surface, hit the little button and Voila, instant temperature check. It's one of those little tools that you don't really need but find plenty of uses for once you own it. I use it to check the storage temp of my wine collection. The only downside is the size. It's small but not small enough to use the attached keychain. No light either so you can't check temps in the dark...not that you'd really need to.
