Posted Jan 3, 2006 - Been a REAL hassel to work with Tivo and Humax to try and resolve. Sold as new. Looks used! We set it up. And the system frooze over and over again.

quiet, easy to set up, great software, networkable.

Posted Mar 29, 2005 - 80 hrs is at the lowest resolution. this unit is the best value for the money. The setup takes about 30 min and will work for a while without the service being activated. activation costs 12.95 / month for the first box or $299 for lifetime (of the t800) . It totally changes the way you watch TV. no more flipping channels to find out what to watch. Just create a wishlist and let the software find things to watch. I have a 2 yr old and having childrens programming on demand has been convenient

Humax TiVo, Just As Nice As TiVo-brand TiVo

Strengths:

All of the Series 2 functionality and a black and silver box.

Weaknesses:

Could have a larger hard drive, but then it'd be more money!

Posted Sep 6, 2005 - The Humax 80-Hour TiVo is effectively the same TiVo as the regular TiVo-branded TiVos, with exception to the case. As such, there really ought to be a Series 3 TiVo. With the Series 3 I'd like to see multi-channel digital audio output and storage, Mac compatability with TiVo-To-Go (though that's really outside the unit itself), direct wired Ethenet, component video in and out, and HD-support.
