Fun to Use

Posted Jun 27, 2006 - I have 5 kids, 2 under 5. I can hand them the camera and not worry about it getting wet or dropped. They and I can take pictures I could never have before because there is no need to worry.

Perfect camera for the way we use it

Posted Dec 24, 2006 - We purchased the Olympus to replace our Sony Cybershot DSC-P52. So far we have found it to be quite a step up in features and performance. We are not professional photographers and do not have a lot of experience with digital cameras.

Fatal Flaw

Posted May 17, 2006 - I purchased the camera for taking pictures while out fishing and at the beach on vacation. The waterproof aspect and convenient size seemed to be a great fit. Unfortuately, the default photo mode for the camera is a "portrait mode" and this mode is not good for outdoor, action or bright light conditions. If you change the settings to those that are most effective outdoors, if you turn the camera off, the settings are not preserved. So you are faced with clicking several buttons to get back to the settings that you prefer. Unfortuately, this last vacation, I missed a number of shots while I was pushing buttons..

OLYMPUS 720 SW

Posted Aug 3, 2006 - This camera is a great bang for the buck. I know I won't break it if dropped. It takes good quality pictures even at higher ISO's. It compliments my E-300 SLR quite nicely !!!!

Nice camera

Posted Jul 30, 2006 - A nice camera if you are looking for a waterproof camera. Not the quality display that I'm accustomed to with the Sony's that I usually buy, but it isn't bad. Overall a good value.

Posted Apr 17, 2006 - well it was a bad choice for me to get this camera.. i was planning to buy the pentax A10..then got to the shop and saw this camera. It was water proof and shock proof too, so figured it be a good buy and thinking that Olympus wouldn't be that bad in technology and photo quality. God!!! was i wrong!!!! The photo quality was the same as my old 3 mega pixel FujiFilm A310 and that was like 3 years old now!!! I was really dissapointed....so regret buy the dam thing!!! It seems like Olympus just packed in a old camera into a tough shell casing.. One other thing i really dont like about this camera is that the panorama feature is really useless and not practical at all. It requires you to remember where the previous shot's right edge was, so that u can join the next photo. That is not a easy thing to do.. try to figure out the height and width the next shot. I just dont see why they bothered putting that in only with the Olympus memory card. Its just a three grid thing.. Probably have to sell it off and buy either sony or pentax. Never Olympus or Fuji again. I've taken a shot of a building and as u can see with it blown up to 100%..its very fuzy and dotted

GREAT Camera!

Posted Jul 30, 2006 - I recently purchased this camera for my month long vacation and I'll be the first to tell you this camera is virtually perfect. Don't listen to all the other "lazy" reviews, this camera is slim, sleek, can fit almost anywhere, large LCD screen, takes great videos as well, the waterproof part is awesome too. And as far as quality goes, theres an option that asks you if you want to take Low Quality pics, Medium, Hihgh, Super High, etc.. and the quality is just fine, the camera is really great. However, unfortunately someone stole it from my bike last week here in Ibiza, so I guess the only downside to it is that there is no built in Lo-Jack tracker. But I've already ordered me another one for when I get back to NY.. Hope this review helped :)

Waterproof. NOT!!!

Posted Jan 29, 2007 - Three minutes in the ocean at depth of less than two feet and the camera got water in the lens and no longer operates. Both my one year Olympus warranty and 5 year Mack warranty exclude damage by liquid. I will be curious to see if the company stands behind their product.

Olympus 720sw

Posted Apr 24, 2006 - I think the image quality is not good enough for the price.. but I am very happy with the waterproof feature that makes me to use inside the pool without any worry. I was expecting to have a carrying case within the package, but it was not included. Anyway, so far I'm happy with my 720sw

Milolta 720sw this is a great little camera

Posted Apr 29, 2006 - I just purchased a Minolta 720sw before we went to Mexico on a week long trip. This camera preformed flawlessly, it is so samll it fits right in a swiming suit pocket. We took it to the pool, beach, waterpark. The battery life is great, packed with features including in camera editing, and a slideshow (with music) just plug it in the tv. I am replacing a bulky Minolta camedia c700. I had my reservations, but I am very happy I went with this one.

durable!

Posted Jul 24, 2006 - We bought it because our kids broke our last camera by dropping it. So far so good with this one. Haven't dropped it yet but from reading the "pro reviews", it supposed withstand some tough crowds (ie. kids). I've owned an Olympus before and I like their products. We are happy with this one because it's compact and did I say durable? The picture quality is good for what we use them for. My last camera took better pictures but this will do.

Good quality pictures, fits in your pocket, solid construction

Posted Jul 20, 2007 - As an avid outdoorsman, this camera was just about perfect. Didn't have to worry about it getting damaged or wet. Fits very easily in my pants pocket. I lost the camera in the river! You might expect the image quality to be a little better, but its still great.
